Are there actually still people defending this train wreck of a presidency?

Obama care is a complete and utter failure and arguing minutia isn't going to change that fact.

If someone paid a quarter of a billion, half a billion or a full billion isn't relevant.

I know kids at the local high school that could have designed a working website for free.

Got a problem with the Unaffordable Care Act?

Then read it, and if you have any trouble understanding eleven-thousand pages of legislation and regulations, tough. Hire a lawyer at $150 an hour, to decipher the legalese for you

Remember, "it's now the law of the land."

What you ended up with is a broken down clunker version of Massachusetts' RomneyCare. One that could of been workable initially until the Republicans decided to butcher it and make it as unworkable as they could get away with the sole intent of creating this Cl^*^^*F^*^.

Maybe as you said, since you are Canadian and have obviously not been paying attention go back and see who exactly put this together. Not one single Republican was involved in writing the ACA. It was crafted 100% and voted 100% by Democrats.

Obama wanted single payer universal healthcare just like we have (Canada) and regardless of the BS you may have heard it works and works well (although I think dental should also be covered).

Unfortunately, The Progressive Democrats had full control of the Executive (Obama) Branch and both Chambers of Congress in 2009.

What they passed is exactly what they wanted to pass with the full support of all the Left Wing NGOs 100%.

Republicans all voted *NO* on this ObamaCare law.

The PPACA is a corporatist Lobbyed law 100%.

Here's another to add to the list.

Felons could have been hired as ObamaCare 'navigators,' Sebelius tells Senate panel

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted Wednesday that it was possible convicted felons could be hired as ObamaCare ‘navigators,’ giving them access to personal information like Social Security numbers and addresses of anyone signing up for the program

“Isn’t it true that there is no federal requirement for navigators to undergo a criminal background check,” Cornyn asked her.

“That is true,” Sebelius answered. “States could add in additional background checks and other features, but it is not part of the federal requirement.”

Cornyn pressed, “So a convicted felon could be a navigator and could acquire sensitive personal information from an individual unbeknownst to them?”

Sebelius answered, “This is possible.”

www.foxnews.com...

Aside from the potential of convicted felons having access to people's personal info - what about the "not yet convicted" ones? The fact that so many "navigators" will have access to people's personal info is beyond disturbing. This is identity theft heaven!

I would trust a felon more then I trust the government with my private info. I do not see the issue here.

As a Canadian I've been sitting back and watching this whole debate with a mixture of disbelief and amusement.

There is no evidence the Obama administration wanted a single payor system - NONE. For the record I am not completely opposed to the idea of a single payor system, it would certainly be better than our existing system for lowering costs, which is critical since healthcare spending is by far the fastest growing and largest portion of our federal spending, and our spending is way out of control.

What I get angry about is people who think that the ACA was done with the best interests of the citizens in mind when there is tons of evidence of the exact opposite.

There was ZERO effort to contain costs in any way. Eliminating monopolies and forcing transparent pricing to force real competition would make a huge difference and is incredibly simple to change. Allowing importation of drugs would force development costs to be shared by the whole world instead of the US alone. These are easy and obvious yet they were not discussed at all.

There was no attempt to pass a single payor system, if they wanted one they could have passed it - after all no republicans voted for the ACA, the Democrats basically had the power to pass any kind of reform they wanted. Then they actively worked to hide what was in it by telling everyone they could see it after it was PASSED.

The facts are CLEAR the ACA is exactly what they wanted it to be - NOT SINGLE PAYOR or a plan to fail to get single payor. It is a plan to screw the public for more money for the benefit of the insurance and medical industries. The only reason people don't see that, is because they don't want to see it.

8. Obama promised that there wasn't even going to be a mandate and then "changed his mind" as soon as he was "elected".

Yup he sure did...

Obama replied that his plan was universal (a claim we rated Barely True ) and explained why he was against a mandate: "A mandate means that in some fashion, everybody will be forced to buy health insurance. ... But I believe the problem is not that folks are trying to avoid getting health care. The problem is they can't afford it. And that's why my plan emphasizes lowering costs."

Obama said at the time it was possible some people would refuse to buy health care under his plan.

Obama flip-flops on requiring people to buy health care

The law has holes that need to be plugged.

Obama has holes that need plugged.

There is literally no excuse for what Democrats have done to this country.

And your Republicans.

It was Bush, Chenny and co that started the ball rolling in the first place.

Obama just contuned with it and expanded it.

You think if you voted in Mccain or Rommeny things would have been diffrent? Hell it would be worse as you would likley be drafted by now to serve in the wars in Syria and Iran they would have started.

People have short memorys.

I bet in 10 years time when you voted the republicans in for a secound term and they are continueing with the mess obamas made (Plus a few wars) you will be demanding the democrats back. And in 20 years when the Democrats are screwing you again you will be praying for the republicans again.

Its just a cycle of political stupidity.

my aunt who retired from her job after 37 years, had to sell her house in California, when she could no longer care for herself, and had to move into a facility. she did not qualify for medicare because of her "wealth"...she had to use it all up first. she netted approx. $260,000 from the sale ...in less than 4 years, she now is down to less than $30,000, all the rest gone...not to government, not to her relatives as an inheritance, but to greedy corporate healthcare providers, that have made a profit off of her illness....this is what these corporations are trying to protect, by lying, cheating, and doom and gloom misinformation to the American people...the sick and dying people are simply a profit source, the less they spend on you, the more they put into their investors stock portfolio.

and yet this type of sick greed isn't even mentioned, let alone discussed....it's a "trainwreck"...it's a "debacle"...it's "socialism"...it's "communism"...it's "going to destroy America"....week after week of this crap, never ending, always negative, nothing positive, nothing helpful...don't people have a puppy they can go and kick around?

3. The now-infamous Obamacare website cost U.S. taxpayers over $1 billion to build

In testimony on Capitol Hill, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said, in response to a direct question: “Congresswoman, we have spent about $118 million on the website itself, and about $56 million has been expended on other IT to support the web.”
That adds up to $174 million.

www.cnn.com...

Your list is only as strong as your weakest claim.

you sure about that?

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the company that earned the contract to build the failed Obamacare website.
Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president at CGI Federal, which earned the no-bid contract to build the $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov. CGI Federal is the U.S. arm of a Canadian company.

So because this person went to her school in the same year she did that means what? .. It doesn't say they were pals, or even knew each other. Princeton is a prestigious university with a lot of students.. I knew a fraction of my graduating class.. a tiny tiny fraction *fail*

I am very sorry that your aunt has found herself into the corporate nightmare, that is what US is, a nation of for profits, somebody in the US have the right to profit from somebody else and nobody care how.

The only interest the government protect is the corporate profits.
