Dire Straits was a British band founded by Mark Knopfler from Newcastle-Upon-Tine!!!

Oasis and the Stone Roses!! may not have taken the U.S by storm but they rocked non the less!!

The 90's gave us Oasis. What's the story was very popular here in the states, was popular during a time when music was either gangster rap or heavy guitars.

For what it's worth I only asked for bands not solo artists but I must admit some solo artists are right up there.

Is it a surprise to anyone to see that the Beatles sold the most albums?

It seems that the Eagles is the greatest American band with just over 125 million albums sold.

Now it's a bit wonky them showing claimed sales. I need to find a better list that has actual sales.
