I'm willing believe the same as well, I don't see in anyway how this could literally be done. Things would go downhill within the first few hours, not to mention big brother wants us to have our shiny, noisy gadgets at hand. How else would they be able to get away with their shenanigans if we weren't distracted by our electronics?

I'm ready I guess, I just bought a new meat saw. I can't find my old one and wanted to have one in case I decide to go deer hunting this year. I'm surprised I didn't find it right after I bought the new one.

I have enough supplies to last two months minimum. I have twelve gallons of gas in stock rotation for the generators. The generators only need to run an hour a day to keep the food in the freezers froze. Got wood for the woodstove, got some water in stock and a well that I can get water out if necessary. We will have snow shortly, an endless supply of water till spring. I guess it is about time to give this a test

The kids will love the break from school up here, within three days they will have gone through their dts from video game withdrawals and have detoxed from cellphone addiction. It will be a welcome site around here to see kids playing outside once again and walking around.

Never happen, this would actually make us all know we can survive without the government. They will not let this outage go past a certain point. The government doesn't want to take two steps backwards on their brainwashing.

I agree with you Ricky...If there is a blackout on purpose,TPTB would'nt want folks to get used to surviving without electricity.

If we do have a national blackout,I look for it to be about 2 weeks.Just long enough for people to freak out if unprepared.

The pattern of drills just before or during terrorist attacks is hard to ignore. As is the reality that in today's world, it would be all too easy to put something like this over on Americans.

This is what worries me also,considering the track record of drills and "terror attacks."

I remember this, I was 7 at the time and I think the power was out for about 2 weeks where we lived, right next to the vermont border . My memory is hazy but I don't remember us ever being in danger of starving or freezing, it was freaking cold tho being that it was january.

For sure theres lots I don't know but it seems if they(TPTB) did shutdown the grid it could easily work for or against them, so why would they? Like another poster said we do see this kinda thing every month, exactly a month in this case but hey this time we got a bonus comet and flare to speculate about. 13 are the fruit of the flower of life and these guys sure seems to like their numbers and geometry, I wouldn't put anything past them though so ill probably buy some food and water and leave it at that.

No. At least that's not the plan.

Based on an August 16th New York Times article, it appears that this November 13th/14th drill will not involve a shut down of the electrical grid.

I just wanted to mention that threads that address scenarios (even if unlikely) can be psychologically protective in addition to going the other direction - spreading fear. I think they only spread fear when the likelihood of the event isn't addressed. I think people did a good job in this one -pointing out time and again how this is just an exercise, while still knowing it is a real possibility to lose services in some other way (that's why they are running the drills).

When people feel prepared - (have an idea of what they would do, and understamd how most people would respond to a man made or natural disaster), they do better both during and after high stress situations. Right now - the (US government at least) takes a tops down approach - "we will save you if something happens". They tell us to prepare to some extent but telling people what role they would play receives little to no attention.

People engaging in these discussions seems healthy to me (one on terrorism would be good too). It's a way for people to think about their own responses and solutions should something happen (empowering). I rarely see people freaking out when I read them. I see problem solving and the sharing of ideas. Nothing wrong with that - allowing the public to do their own drills - with words.

I have to say the timing of this post and my mother's actions are quite odd. She keeps notes of all her grocery lists, and most recently, she wrote a note to get more flashlights. HOW ODD!!

What I know is that an entire grid CAN'T be down by a "cyber-attack", that's just a myth.
Same principle as the twin towers CAN'T free-fall not even by 4 airplanes hitting on each side.
So that recently American Blackout fictional documentary is just wrong in terms of the cause.
If natural you can blame the Sun by a nasty solar storm,artificial causes could be an EMP attack (inside or outside job).
But what it looks like it will be an inside job: a delivered shutdown by blaming whatever fake reason, including the non-sense cyber-attack.

I heard a discussion about it the other day from a well-known radio and Internet celeb, one who has a reputation in these parts of being someone who is always blowing things out of proportion (I'll give you 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count)...
He indicated that it won't be a shutdown, but a temporary disconnection of the network that links all of the individual power plants together (the grid).
According to him, each individual plant will still be functioning and providing electricity to their respective regions just like they always have, they just won't be interconnected.

What could possibly go wrong?

Why would they want to put us in camps? Marshal law - and I'm no pro at this - is people staying in their home because it's the safest thing, while they get a bad social situation under control and calm people down (riots). What justification could they possibly give people to get them to camps? And they wouldn't shoot us for wanting to stay home. Even if it's for our own safety. Didn't a bunch of people stay in a flood zone in Colorado recently.

I don't worry about Jesse Ventura (and others who investigate), with camps - although he is convincing. Our military is made up of "us". Unless some vast conditioning is going on to ignore their oath to protect our rights in this Country it wouldn't happen.

My friend, it's obviously for the control of people. They could make way more money caging us in like prisoners and telling us it's for the good of mankind. I mean this is something that has been done for a while in the US, just look at all the people that have ben arrested for petty crimes in our country and how much they are making. In California it costs about $45,000 a year for each inmate. That's a lot of money, and they'd be doing the same to us. To keep us safe from their concocted lies.

I agree with you on the criminal justice system - it's atrocious. I suppose I'm thinking of our military in particular -can't wrap my head around them engaging (maybe my history plays into that a bit). I know people can be conditioned, and I believe if we are headed in that direction most will go willingly, while the few reminding will be seen as resistant. In that case I could see it happening if they could justify it is hurting the masses - to leave them alone/allow them to stay put. If that day comes I intend to move to Canada (or even Mexico would be more enticing at that point).

Unfortunately I have had and still have a family member in the penal system. Even they know how deep the corruption goes, but they have no rights, which equals no voice.
I believe that the conditioning has been going on for a while now, ie. fluoridation of our water supply. This is something that has been used before, Nazi Concentration Camps. It makes people docile and complacent. I have a water filter that gets rid of sodium fluoride from my drinking water. Many of my friends have become very complacent in life which is not in their nature. I don't have concrete proof, but who does?! Look at all these other Countries that are really fighting against government corruption. Then look at the US.

Very slow conditioning and making the mind lazy and complacent. Take power out of the persons hands and rule the world. How much power does the government have - and how much motivation do the people have left? Them having power isn't hurting us as much as helping (for the most part), so therefore people have no motivation to do anything. These are facts - written about by academics, specialists, and well researched.

That is why I advocate for people empowering themselves with knowledge. To allow them to go through the process and discuss with people their greatest fears and work through them. That can happen on this very site if they are able to get past the name calling or shaming (I've seen more than a few stop discussing when this has happened to them sadly). Discussing is what people need to be doing to get strong again; just as you and I are.

It is a slow process if we are to come out of this trance. It has taken awhile to get here so "hopefully" people will keep feeling safe enough to talk, debate, learn, and slowly wake up. Everyone is at their own place with it all but the more we do that the more our eyes are opened.

On one level I find the situation humorous, on another level I feel sad but most of all I feel angry.

I will admit to being a seasoned female, that's the politically correct term for an old broad. It was less than 50 years ago that I had to spend summers helping my grandma. She lived further in the country than we did and no one in her area had electricity or running water. Even where we lived we didn't have street lights, something my city dwelling cousins used to tease us about mercilessly.

If people managed, quite nicely I might add, before without electricity, why is it that we are being convinced that going without electricity is going to be the end of the world?

Okay, you have to make some adaptions to your lifestyle. So get cracking. The better you prepare the easier it will be. Try it, and don't cheat, and forget about the flashlights unless for real emergencies, batteries die fast and you will run out quick. If nothing else this little test will tell you what you need in your house to make it easier to get by. And yes that will mean giving up ATS for a day or two, however long it takes you to learn how to get by and stay safe without it.

Fear is handy little emotion when used wisely. Right now we can't afford the luxury of fear, there is no cavalry coming to the rescue. We are way pass the stage for fear. Now it is time to get booty in motion.
