It is a HOAX.
Ive experienced situations where loud noises are heard, most notbibly when a house exploded around the corner due to a gas leak...EVERYONE in the surrounding streets came out of their houses to see what the noise was and where it was coming from.
These are sound effects layered over video, its a very old, boring hoax.
The most widely used tool to make this hoax is something called a waterphone, all you need to do is download a clip with someone using one, split the video and audio...and then paste it over the top of another video looking out into a quiet street.
So my ears were experiencing a hoax in a very small town in Saskatchewan due to an app? Please explain.

Please explain, how can i when i know nothing of your story?
These videos are all bs, every last one of them. Its all doom porn end of the world rubbish.
You may have heard something strange, but i doubt it was anything like in the video i just watched. I don't automatically attribute any strange sound to aliens, spirits, angels or anything else you could class as paranormal. There are normally logical ecplanations, but you have to want to know, you have to put some effort in sometimes...even then you may never find the answer. Weird noises happen for all different reasons and to be honest are not the highest priority on my list of things to worry about.
These videos showing empty streets or people just milling about while a softly spoken commentator does his bit with waving the camera about and saying how loud the noise is are just blatant hoaxes. Loud noises attract people, you cannot whisper or speak softly over a noise that sounds like it should wake everone in a 2 mile radius. If these noises were real people would be calling the council/authorities complaining in their thousands. There would be far more videos, real ones....you know, the one where the sound changes as the camera is moved and the person is screaming their lungs out to be heard over the incredibly loud noise.
Its rubbish.
As for your experience, given that it most probably happened a while ago, and you probably have no recording of it, there is little point debating what you heard.

I never said every last video is real, but to say that they are all fake is absurd. It's far too widespread. Furthermore, since I heard sounds last year myself resembling what has been recorded in the same country, province --and even city, I am quite inclined to believe that a large portion is most definitely real.
You don't have to believe myself or anyone else, but you can't disprove what we've heard either. To even mention that people think it "must be aliens" or some such non-sense is also ridiculous. Most people would like to know where it is coming from, what it is, and why. It is an unknown that has not been answered and seems to be a relatively recent phenomena. Lots of possibilities.
