This might be a real ignorant question to ask, but what happened in Japan really going to effect the WHOLE world as a whole? I can see Japan and it's surrounding areas, but EVERYONE?

Just a thought.....

A lot of people read these posts and threads.... HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE CONTACTED YOUR CONGRESSMAN OR SENATOR ABOUT THIS CRUCIAL PROBLEM????????????????????? The whole point of our representative system is for US to let out representatives KNOW what we are thinking and feel. THIS is an incredibly serious problem for the whole world.... to not let our government officials know we are very worried is idiotic. Spread the word to your friends and ask them to spread it as well. Ask them to contact their representatives too. Too many people take this situation lightly. It must not be taken lightly.

To be on the safe side, I'd suggest everyone to lean towards vegetarianism/veganism.

Japan will never lose face until it's too late. A nuclear disaster is Japan is the perfect storm of this kind of catastrophe.

If this is more of a slow poisoning of the oceans, then most people will be fine with it, some clever businessman will start selling us all radiation pills. Take 2 every morning and you will be immune to radiated seafood. If it doesn't hit humanity in the form of a huge mushroom cloud or in the form of a giant fire breathing dinosaur, then most people won't care if some fish is 100x above the safe toxicity levels.

Just like with the BP oil spill, slowly but surely seeping out into the oceans. But its a pretty big ocean, and its going to take many years for it to really affect us, which is much longer than any human's attention span.
I agree people will not pay enough attention and if they do it will only last until they can justify ignoring it(ie: I want a tuna-fish sandwich. One won't hurt.).

I still think that Japan will have a terrible effect on the health of those that live their. I believe that it people should leave Japan so that the Japanese people can be healthy. I understand that in the east there is many concepts of face, and some may see this as a loss of face: I do not. But although radiation spreads Japan should be classed as a non-habitable zone. If it isn't now it eventually must be surely.

Actually I have been seeing Fukushima in the western press more often ever since PM Abe lied his butt off in front of the IOC. The political backlash and head hunters have been having a field day with Abe`s comments `Fukushima is under control.`

Japan increased for a very short Time the allowed Level up
to 500Bq a Kg for normal Food but decreased it down to 100Bq a Kg
already a few Month after 03/11

This Level is very low compared to other States,
People in Canada and the US "must" tolerate Levels of 1.200Bq a Kg
which is 12 Times as much as in Japan!

The Levels for Fish are mostly Non Detectable or very low!
Information is the much needed Tool for your Surviving!

Yes meanwhile this is ignored by the corporate main stream media, the government, and the green nuts. Instead they worry about a completely fabricated idea of man made global warming from Carbon Dioxide.
We live in Bizarreo world.

So there is a bunch of talk in the US about invading Syria or striking Iran, yet those with the money and power refuse to lending a helping hand.

If Fukushima does result in an ELE, we as humans are the ones to blame. Unfortunately us with little wealth and power will have to live through the fallout while those with the money and power to have helped clean this disaster up will be safe in their fallout bunker/buildings.

We need to forge some sort of micro organism that can go in and eat up the radioactive material.. just like that one they made for BP oil spill and didn't use.

So if Pacific Bluefsh Tuna now has 10 times more radioactive cesium than it did before the disaster, that means it already had radioactive cesium in it before the disaster..... wonder where that came from.

It seems he's just written a sensationalist piece for the local newspaper's website to promote a talk he was giving. I see no reason to take any notice of it.

Exactly - to the point of absurdity. It's unhelpful, disingenuous, and entirely missed the moving forward points.

And about Western media I entirely disagree. I see way too much FUD in Western Media on the topic - like this latest foray by VOA: depletedcranium.com...#-from-voa-on-fukushima/ ..

Funny, I've been trying to raise awareness of this whole Fukushima ongoing disaster for 6months now and so few people are willing to listen.

It's amazing, the effect that the TV has on people, once it's been on TV a bit, then it's an acceptable piece for social discussion.

No doom porn necessary, because of this clusterfnck directly unloading itself into the earths circulatory system, the effects are going to be very very long term.

You are so right - media plays a huge role in what catches the worlds attention. When people ask how I know things before they hit MSM I tell them of the alternative news sources. Teach people to think for themselves and to choose less bias sources and you will see change - people 'do' care - it just isn't salient because they are either lazy (want it spoon fed), or do not know the info is just a mouse click away. I like to focus on the later.

I'm pretty sure G.E. has something to do with the media blackout. When it comes to this company you'll never see anything other than Good Ole G.E. Ain't that right sparky?

A video was on Rense.com a week ago where the man said that within 6 years essentially all the life in the Pacific Ocean will be gone. The video is no longer there. Hope that the fish+ last longer.
