the problem with a lot of conservatives is that they don't realize they don't speak for everyone

Yes, it's ironic how they call everyone that doesn't agree with their backwardness stupid and they claim they represent all Americans when they are only 40%- which means 60% don't agree with them.

Well then it's a good thing the US was set up as a republic and not a democracy isn't it. It's also a good thing we have this:

the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Surely you've heard of it? Second amendment? No????

Backwardness stupid from an 0bama supporter?

Yeah, poop called. Says vomit stinks.

Too bad the 2nd applies to all US citizens. Not just the faked 40% you state.

I just have one question for Ms. Dagette: what's a magazine clip?
It sounds like she doesn't know the difference between a magazine, a clip, and a round. I would hate to think that these people making these laws for us all are completely ignorant of the subject matter they are speaking against.

How does gun control prevent false flag attacks from happening?

''We practiced to this not more than 3 weeks ago [...] and we practiced the exact scenario that played out today... that WE played out today...''

The shooter was called Chris Ciaffa. Maybe a cia shooter?

If people are going to hate something, why not first understand what it is, and actually be informed on what you hate and want banned.

i wonder sometime if people started calling magazines clips, because of the way they used to load some rifles with stripper clips.

I believe in mild gun control, but certainly not the kind the democrats want.

Did california recently ban lead ammo or is this just a rumor? Talk about stupid!

Or how many rounds a gun can carry in its clip or magazine. Again pointless!

Or that short barrelled rifles carry a $200 tax stamp for no good reason. That is even if the state allows them in the first place, which some do not. I mean what the hell difference does a semi-auto SBR, from a semi-auto pistol, from a semi-auto rifle make????? They all shoot one round per trigger pool.

I can see automatic weapons, short barralled shotguns and armor piercing rounds banned though.

As for noise suppressors tax them $100.

As for gun registration it should happen at the state level, not federal level.

Just some ideas. Everyone has their own criteria but fanatics on either side will never compromise.

Clips are for rifles that have a permanently attached magazine.
Think M1 Garand. Enfield blocks.

Magazines are detachable and are used by both pistols, rifles and shotguns.

Common Good
Liberals can be so pathetic sometimes.

I think they really lack that critical thinking part of the brain, and continually focus on what is NOT the problem.

Either they are really stupid- or they are doing everything in their power to push their agenda by using incidents like this to try and push emotional scare tactics in order to get people on their side.

what they havent learned is that neither of those options ever work out for them. they think people are stupid- but the people think that they are the stupid ones.

the people are right.

It doesn't mater if it's now or ten years from now or until our country collapses... at which time it would be moot anyway, AMERICANS will NEVER give up their guns. HOW MANY TIMES do we got to say it? IT h'aint gonna happen. And if the government tries there will be lots of blood. LOTS !

So all these propositions are moot, and just another day of Washington bullcrap.

I think Washington should be more concerned about not being run out of town on a rail and tarred and feathered. Or just hung as they deserve. Well at least some of the traitors.

So "the people" are conservatives and liberals are? Seems like last time I checked, the President won two elections, so apparently there are at least a few people who don't agree with you.

Just shows how stupid a lot of the electorate is.

Let us take the word "Progressives" out of the picture. Some people are afraid of what firearms represent. To them, firearms are a symbol of misplaced control. Most of those folks don't understand that there is a responsibility instilled upon the vast majority of firearms owners. They don't understand that the overwhelming consensus between carriers is "do no harm".

A lot of it is projection: they don't have any self control and think they would become violent if they had a gun so they think EVERYONE shares their lack of self control.

Well there is obviosly a problem in the USA.

You getting mass shooting every week it seem, so there is a problem as other western countrys dont get that, at least not at this frequancy.

But seeing as Czechoslovakia and Switlerland have less guns laws than the USA yet dont have mass shootings then I dont think gun control is the issue.

There is obviously a culture problem some where. Maybe its not the guns that are the problem but ones view of them? Americans seem to (at least on here) worship them and view as some sort of crutch you go to first when you have a problem. Maybe the violence culture in the states is to blame? Or there is a serouis mental health epidemic in the states or a mixture of both.

Eitherway you have a problem, a big one.

Banning guns wont work as I have said I dont think they are the issue, it the people behind them that are. And you need to find out whats wrong with the American people.

So you try to prove commongood wrong by using first grade tactics?
Why didn't you just call him a poopy face?
Liberals all over the country just read that, face palmed, and thought " dude, shut up. You're making us look bad."

Keep it up

Nope. You've missed the point. I dislike the labeling of liberal, conservative, progressive, right, etc...that is a divisive tactic. I would venture to bet that there are as many liberals as there are conservatives and other labeled groups, that are all pointed towards the same goal, but instead of uniting in common, allow for division by label to be their guide. I'm not going to stoop to name calling because it's not productive in discourse. Gun control or lack of gun control is a serious issue, neither left or right or in-between, and carries many ramifications. Personally, I'm all for gun ownership if that's your ilk, but your not going to have it without dissent, and that's healthy, else your living in a state of rule that is down right scary. The OP posted that one of the immediate reactions to the LAX incident was the TSA requesting to have further security for their and others safety and that you could predict it coming. Agreed. TSA was created and signed into law by GWB in 2001 as a knee-jerk reaction to 9/11. The LAX response of arming TSA agents or providing yet another set of armed security or calling for more gun controls is also knee-jerk. That's how we respond in this country. I'm an American with differing views on al sorts of topics, probably like most Americans. Keep your labels as you want, but not for me.

We already have plenty of gun control. We need less of it, not more of it. I could think of several things that should be rolled back like SBR taxation, the need for a CCP and how expensive it tends to be, and the need for DHS to stop hoarding ammunition.

Some states, the liberal ones, have gone way beyond reasonable gun control, to the point of surreptitiously disarming everyone. If CCP is too hard to get and/or too expensive then you might as well be considered a disarmed citizen.

The latest and biggest stupidity was banning lead ammo by the state of california. Nearly all ammo is made with a lead core. Only specialised ammo is not, and it costs more.

I'd like to make it easier to get a silencer too. In the UK and Scandinavia they are off-the-shelf type items and considered polite (less noise pollution). It would certainly make varmiting easier on my land.

Here is a spin on the "if they take our guns they will render us powerless and unable to resist tyranny" and "the UK is toothless" comments.

Have you noticed whenever there is a revolution anywere, even in the most opressive nations there is never a shortage of guns?

That because if a real demand for guns is there, orginised crime will make sure that demand is meet. Also normaly when there is a revolution another country will always have a intrest, be it because it agree with it cause or just wants to destabalise the country. Look at the American revolution? without france it most likley wouldnt have gotten anywere, france gave you all that help just because it wanted to piss Britain off. Same with almost every other revolution anywere all the way up to the arab spring. Hell someone is even giving the syrian rebels arms.

If a Revolution started in the USA you can bet your arse your legal guns would be gone in a month. Its the illegal ones thats will be the usefull ones. And wanna bet that China and Russia, Hell even Iran and North Korea in there desire to see a weak USA will be handing out not just small arms but heavy stuff too like sweets as well as supplying "advisers" to train you? Of course they will, they wont want to see a new American Revolution snuffed out in a few months, not when a long drawn out civil war will mean they can do all the crazy crap they never would have tried if the USA was united.

This isnt to say the USA needs guns control or not so dont start replying the useual yanky doodle BS that Im a gun grabber ect anyone that does will be flammed for not being able to read, this is just to say gun control or not a population can still oppose tyranny, its the will that counts, the guns and other goodies will find there way too you anyway.

I personally don't care for noise suppressors as they cheapen the shooting experience. Guns are somewhat of a macho thing for me, not that I go around shooting anything either. But when you go to the shooting range dont you want to hear the boom?

They are not hard to get now. Just have to pay the $200 tax stamp and file some paperwork. Perhaps it should be $100 instead. I consider silencers/noise suppressors as luxury items as they tend to get used frequently by organised crime.
