Let's reiterate that

Perspective..............Use it...................Or lose it

I read those words years ago and they had a profound effect on me throughout my life how many times have I thought that over the years ?

Let's just for the fun of it, use posting on ATS as an example.

Personally I've been on ATS since 2005, I've had my run ins with mods, a posting ban, but only on the very rare occasions I forgot this mantra.

We've, most us, spent time doing painstaking research, spent days typing up a thread in word in our spare time only for it to be completely ignored.

And that's OK. Not everybody is interested in what we think.

Many of us, you know who you are, have made that embarrassing drunken post (I'd be the first to put hand up to that one) and logged on the next day only to be mortified at what we posted.

That's OK we only made fools of ourselves


But now we get to oh so dreaded 404

It was necessary to move a post of your's to the trash bin.

I got one last night, I was pretty sure it was coming long before I hit the post button. It was a gentle poking of fun at a mod that is newly promoted, and when I came across the headline I simply couldn't resist posting a thread about it.

No big deal just a thread removed.

I have a close friend on ATS that currently sits in the ATS cell for losing the plot over a dumb post.

We come to ATS to debate, to laugh, to put our point across to like minded individuals, so if something we think gets shot down, there's a good chance we were wrong. And we need to accept that.

Our threads aren't cute babies getting beaten by thugs, they are just our thoughts on the screen of another person somewhere in the world. The mods aren't standing over us with baseball bats, they're just making sure we can interact in a civil manner, and within the rules.

So before you get upset, before you insult, after you feel encroached upon and before you put on your keyboard warrior suit.

My perspective is ever changing and always evolving. Some days I love the mods and some days I want to duct tape them to the ceiling ( you ceiling dwellers know who you are ). Some of them I consider my friends while others are on my "Bundle of switches for Christmas" list. All in all I would have to say I'd rather keep ALL of them, otherwise this place would go all "Wild West" and wouldn't be the same place. So when I get frustrated I just go do something else for a while until it passes..... not so difficult!

I second that emotion Cody my dear friend.

And would like to take this occasion in apologising deeply to anyone who may have felt hurt or targeted in any way by some of my own personal posts in moments of keyboard frenzy when my pride has gotten the better of me before i could bite my lip, take a deep breath and put my brain into gear before changing my fingertip gears.

I found this out this morning... i am EXREMELY piddled off and at the same time relieved :

I found out that last week my local baker/ shop keeper, slipped something chemical and illegal into my morning coffee... Thus probably being the reason why i acted like a complete and utter numbnut with no brains and got banned for a couple of days!

I have filed charges with the local gendarmerie (as this is something that could actually lead to the DEATH of someone!!!) and am awaiting what the gendarmerie have to say following investigations, as apparently this is not the first time this has happened! (he has already done it to me once but with alcohol in my coffee)...

Just wanted to share this with you all.

Then I realize that I'm talking to myself and drunk. Nappy time.

I believe I have embarrassed myself a few times. But there have also been times where I have a mild buzz on and am feeling happy and humorous and somehow survived the experience.

I was just about to tie my shoelaces and go to eat in this seedy hotel where i am currently situated!

I know what you mean when your "Baby" gets trashed or aborted... and it's like a good kick up the bottom! (but the problem is that the shoe that kicks you up the bottom has superglue on the end!)

One day i might actually try typing when i am drunk... *never done that before... Honest!!
