The first steps are being taken to allow cameras into the court room.

But does the UK really want to go down this route?

I have seen the media circuses that are allowed in the US courts and it shocks me how justice can be done.

Just look at the Zimmerman case. The jury found him innocent yet he is a house hold name across the country due to the Media , because of that will he ever recover his life?

Does the UK really want to risk public bias due to media? Is justice really blind in the courts if a rabid mob is waiting outside a courtroom waiting incase of a "undesired" veridict?

I hope this is not true.
I don't think us Brits would watch it anyhow.

I saw this on the news earlier.

Its a sad development. Our courts will be a pathetic circus act like the USA before long with celebrity prosecutors and 'perp walks'.

i think Zimmerman was a house hold name and even with no cameras in the court it would have made no difference.

the Nat Frazer case in Scotland where his appeal was televised didn,t change anything cause he was in the paper constantly anyway, the media circus was in full swing even before the cameras arrived.
