Throughout history Man sought a spiritual basis for his existence. No matter how far back you go the conscious being Man tried to relate to a higher power as a reason and cause of his existence but in the 20th Century this changed. A leading newspaper published the statement 'God is dead'. Obviously if a God exists he can never be dead but what is dead is the spiritual existence of Man. Instead of a fascination and obsession with concepts of a higher power of a benign nature man in the 21st Century is obsessed with malignant entities such as vampires and zombies. Man is now undead - a soulless being obsessed with his malignancy with atheists as the undertakers of mans soul. What say you all - is Man more than a soulless life sucking entity without a soul?

Nope, we're all just bi-pedal meat sacks.
And since when were gods ever benign? Have you ever read the bible? Lots of malevolence and daddy issues there.

Are there people really obsessed with vampires and zombies? I have never heard anyone hurling quotes from bram stokers dracula at others like bible verses or anything myself. Do these people exist?

It is interesting how atheists blame all of man's wars and violence on religion as though religion and all of man's spirittual endeavors were an attempt to create murder and mahyhem when what was written and what was attempted was almosts always the opposite - it is not the spiritual nature man that is violent - the spiritual nature of Man is an oppositinn to a type of barbareism that infects man's essence - 'they' ask can Man evolve above his history? Can a hypotheitical advanced species of aliens not infected by man's barbaric natrue say they are now one of us and ready to assume their place in wondrous universe? - Or are they more like the vampires and zombies they are now obsessed with? - a malignant race not worthy of life in our universe???

So if you don't subscribe to a "Basic Information Before Leaving Earth" BIBLE --- you therefore have no soul?

You are entertained by the Walking Dead more than the Passion of the Christ--- therefore you are undead?

you prefer Halloween than Christmas... Therefore you be obsessed with malignance?

I think for thousands of years civilizations have always revered and tried to understand the death / the nature of the "soul" and afterlife... I see nothing wrong with questioning the "heaven/hell" hypothesis... When something doesn't fit, the human brain will always try to learn more until the puzzle pieces fit together... It's in our nature.

How do you know? Really you can only go back but so far so you really don't know if early man was religious or not. That may be something that came much later. We only know about worship from our historic period. Nothing prehistoric.

Exist? Making millions, maybe billions, maybe more than organized religion, with vampire movies and most are romantice movies, not to metion the zombie cultistst and their cult of 'the zombie apocalypse'. No, the're not hurling quotes, the're trying to live the life [or death] of the undead and IMO malignant entities, bring the horrors of hell to life. Too bad the religions of man failed so badly that the 21st Century has come to this. The atheist undertakers are taking account.

Mankind is already undead because he aint dead and its been that way for hundreds of thousands of years. It aint got anythig to do with emerged religious believes in some. Atheists have been around far longer than religious fools!

Atheists are the only hope for humanity. And when man finally rids himself of religion only then will he realise his full potential!

Vampires, Zombies, Gods, Devils, Demons - what a lot of poop!!

The complete opposite is true.
Our era is one of truth and the light of reason, our tendencies are also thus.
Through truth and information ,man has never been more spiritually aware.
Never before have the charlatans and maji been so exposed.

With all due respect that is poopidiculous!!
The only truth is that religion is a undead man made lie!
A crutch that should be made redundant!
All religious leaders of any kind are all charlatans. The Vatican is full of them!

Gone quiet this thread. Something I wrote?

Look its quite simple. Religion is used as a means for people to surpress their fears and give them some hope when the reality is that life is finite in all forms!1

So you are butthurt vampires and zombies are more entertaining than the bible? I started reading the bible again, I don't think I am going to make it through this time. It's dry, and boring. God should have hired Koontz or King to write his book.

The human race is trying it's very best, both by
action and inaction to go extinct.

The only unresolved question is who gets the
blame. That's what our culture is currently
all about .. determining who gets the blame.

The "God is Dead" thing is often thrown around by fundies with no context.

When Nietzsche said God is dead, he meant to say mankind's need to look to the sky for direction has passed. Mankind can now, and should, hold HIMSELF accountable for his own actions.

It was never meant to say people shouldn't be spiritual, but to remove religion from the front of our decision making process. Take a look around. We are STILL fighting "crusades". George Bush by his own words started this last one. People thought that comment was a gaffe. It wasn't. It wasn't meant for the American people, but for the thousands upon thousands of Muslims we are still slaughtering. This planet is screwed because of the god paradigm.

Insanity.
