Strategically, if anyone wants weapons-free on nukes, they can't play from a position of strength.
The moment anyone uses a nuke, no matter who they are, immediately becomes everyone's bad-guy.
If Israel wants to bomb some other country into glass, it's going to have to do so from the victim corner.
Israel would have to drop a nuke on itself, sacrifice Jerusalem in doing so, ensuring that the nuclear signature fits with old Soviet material (that
could effectively be paper-trailed from the Soviet collapse to whichever/whoever appropriate enemy one wants to blame, but not too overtly
conspicuously so to raise false flag alarm bells).
With Jerusalem dinged with a crater, an old Soviet nuke signature hanging over the city, Israel gets to play the righteous victim, and rope Russia in
as a guilt-trip ally to mete out the wrath of God on whoever they want to scapegoat for the bombing they in reality did themselves.
If marketed correctly and effectively with world media showing Muslims dancing in the streets everywhere, over and over and over, with the right
soundbites and spin, the whole thing could possibly even be turned into a worldwide religious war against Islam.
Suddenly, all Islamic controlled real estate is up for grabs, and Israel, being injured and all, might be within its rights to gain territorial
concessions, and even a seat on a UN stewardship council over soon-to-be de-muslimfied areas and how they might now be governed and dispensed with by
the international community.
Sometimes you have to sacrifice your queen, your most powerful piece, to win the game.
