I don't intend to provide an answer. However, I do live in Los Angeles. On my way home today as I was on the 210 east going through Pasadena, CA....I looked in my rear view mirror and the sky was blood red. Very beautiful, yet unusual. This was around 6pm at the latest.

Actually, I'm not sure wether it was normal or not....I will say this though, it's been almost 20 years since the last time I saw the sky that color. The sunsets color was very unusual.

Was it bad to be walking around in the warm SoCal sun all earlier today (yesterday, soon)?
Uh Oh =(

So did you see the blood colored sky too? It was rather creepy!

The first CME will arrive late tomorrow or Sunday. Its density is estimated to be quite high but its velocity isn't. The real impact will depend on its magnetic orientation. If it takes a south turn it could result in strong geomagnetic storming.

So this would explain the weird very red sky over Los Angeles yesterday 10/25/2013? Should we expect the same cloud/sky coloration today 10/26/2013 due to these solar flares or whatever they are?

Thanks for the info Cheesy, and Phage I would appreciate your continued "debunking" because quite frankly... this is a little scary. By itself it would be fun and interesting, getting my doom porn lovin' "rocks off" as it were, however this is happening at a very precarious time in the world and I live in FEMA Region III

Red? I never hear that..there is pink on japan..atser say its because of chemical reaction..but i forget..hehe
Tq my friend..maybe you can ask Mr.phage for that..

Thanx Phage
A few years ago in central Saskatchewan, in the middle of winter, I bundled up and stood outside in -40 temps for about an hour watching the most intense auroras I've ever seen. Both greens and pinks, dancing around the sky.
So beautiful.
There was a moment that I wondered if any radiation came through with the display, but it was so gorgeous, I just thought "who cares, I'm watching this".
If there wasn't so much snow, I would have been out there in a lawn chair, and blankets. I could have watched that all night.

I'll be watching for them tonight

Cheesy, no offense intended, but now whenever I see a thread by you I already know it will be about some impending or potential doom or bad happenings.

Try to think about all the many wonderful things in the world and universe sometime.

And there's no use posting thread titles in ALL CAPS--the mods will just change them anyway.

Wake me up when grids fail and/or auroras make it as far south as Tampa. No offense you guys, but it's not like we don't get these, and we've gotten strong than X2's as it is. No wild weather happened, no cities crumbled into power-strapped ruin, the planet did not crack like an eggshell, etc. You should be so lucky if you see a Carrington Event before you die, to put it bluntly.

To the person in California, your sunsets are not from a solar flare, smh. Check your atmospheric conditions lately. You've had lots of fires out there, haven't you? Thank the aerosols in the atmosphere from them.
Why are sunsets red?
What are aerosols?

Cheesy, I kinda have to agree - - to a limited point - - with the other guy up above. Settle down, bro! There's no need to hyperventilate over every single occurrence that happens day to day. I like your upbeat attitude, but you've got to stop bouncing off the walls so much. It's going to end up generating apathy. Let me be clear (to everyone) I'm not complaining, I'm simply pointing out an inevitable that will happen with reader burn-out.

Well in Ireland my car GPS / satnav doesn't want to 'initialise'......

It took about 5 mins before it decided to work - although I knew where I was going so.......

I wonder sometimes would people on ATS actually want something (?) to happen to prove to the rest of the worlds sheep that there is more to life than popular celebrity culture and misguided religious beliefs.....

😜😜

Is this activity too early to have caused the Etna eruption?

Europe's tallest and most active volcano Mount Etna erupted on Saturday, spewing glowing lava into the air and sending a vast plume of smoke over the southern Italian island of Sicily.

The eruption did not require any mountain villages to be evacuated or cause significant disruption, though airspace over Sicily was briefly closed on Saturday morning, according to Catania airport.

The volcano is in almost constant activity, although the last major eruption was in 1992. The latest eruption was preceded by a series of underground tremors on Friday.

UK Guardian

The chap from Suspicious0bservers is trying to link weather and seismic activity to Solar Flares, but I am not up to date with how long it would take from solar eruption to terrestrial reaction. I am of the mind that everything in the Universe is linked, and could therefore happily accept the notion that a large solar flare could have a virtually immediate impact on Earth's magma and physical structure, ahead of the 'solar wind', which obviously takes an amount of hours to arrive...

Anyone with any information to suggest that earth phenomena could occur almost instantaneously with solar activity? Because with the Fukashima earthquake too, it would seem to me that some other forces associated with solar flares might travel to and effect earth more quickly than we might realise at present.

Please shoot me down as crazy, I'm an easy target sat here in my armchair

yesterday, at sunset, it happened the same in my city ( near Porto, Portugal, Europe) it was an amazing set, there was some honey mesh orange to red clouds all over the sky, and just in eye view of horizon a little brilliant blue sky... was amazing, never seen that before

Dagnabbit!!!
Snowfall warning, full on cloudiness.

Summertime we only get about 4 hours of darkness, winter - clouds get in the way.

I was looking forward to being blasted with a good solar storm

No light show for me tonight.
