Hopefully not a precursor to another large one, but exactly the same mag and very close to the same location as before.

Japan can't handle another big one.

Wonder if it had anything to do with the large solar flare that the sun fired out today?

Oh my. Here we go. I knew there would be something coming after Antarctica but I certainly was hoping it wouldn't be here. Keep us updated and everyone keep up the thoughts/vibes/love/prayers for those in the area.

Just read that there are multiple flares we are being hit with at the moment so guess it could be a combo punch. Still not positive about the correlation between flares and EQ's but it seems about as sound as any other theories I have read about on causes of EQ's.

Great....so the fukushima nuke plant will certainly take a hit from this if that is true.

Tsunami warning issued for Fukushima after 7.3 earthquake strikes off coast

The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a "yellow" warning early on Saturday morning that a small tsunami would reach the Japanese coast at Fukushima, site of a wrecked nuclear power plant, at 1740 GMT. There were no immediate reports of damage on land from the quake, classified as magnitude 6.8 by Japanese authorities, which struck some 230 miles off Japan's eastern coast.

that's not too bad considering how shallow it was, 10km, hopefully it stays at 1 meter.

That's the first thing I thought of.

When I lived in Japan we had tons of earthquakes. Very few caused tsunamis, even with tsunami watches going up. That country is unstable. I don't know who came up with the bright idea to put a nuclear plant on a major fault line let alone make it so it couldn't handle tsunamis ....

from a testimony

First it started out as many of the smaller earthquakes we had the past month but then it became quite intense for a couple seconds and things were rattling and shifting.
I could hear and see people waking up but noone went out because it's heavily raining because of the typhoon.

oh my goodness they are getting hit hard from all sides, wonder what effect they typhoon would have on any waves if there are any generated?
