The fact that they haven't hurt me personally, doesn't mean they haven't hurt others. It does have to start somewhere. And we need to end this before we do have what all you mentioned, and much more. Your examples are not very good ones. How about forced socialism, drone strikes, and invasion of privacy? And I am certain there will be others here that can add to my list. Lets not be selective to suit your cause here.

What drone strikes ? The US government has not launched a drone strike here in the US. Thats just false. There is no forced "socialism".

Huh? Did I say that they did the strikes in the US? They have killed American citizens via drone strikes in other countries. Plus we can't forget about their innocent citizens that the Obama admin murdered in cold blood. And just what is Obamacare? Do we have a choice in this? Didn't think so.

Yeah the american traitors who sided with the terrorists to hurt the US. Completely justified. What innocent civilians did obama murder and sacrifice now ? You gotta give some proof. You dont have to take "obamacare" if you dont want to. No one is forcing you.

So this way China, India, Russia, and Brazil can snoop on all the people using their backbone and stick out their tongues to the NSA.

Does anyone really think that the people using the BRIC's proposed backbone is going to give you more privacy?

They are just making it harder for the NSA to be apart of the spy games. But then again I have a hard time imagining that any of the information recently made available to the public wasn't already known to some extent to foreign countries. It isn't like NSA stands for National Security Agency or anything.

I'm pretty sure that they can spy on your through your ISP, so I don't see how this is going to prevent anything. No matter what the “network” is, they only have to tap your initial connection point into that network.

The link to Maimi seems to be the current connection that Brazil uses. All Internet traffic is looped on the US, even if they need to call Venezuela or Peru the traffic first goes into the US and then to destination and back again. That is why the NSA can snoop it all...

The emphasised statement is not entierly true--some traffic does not go via the US...

From 2008:

“Because of the nature of global telecommunications, we are playing with a tremendous home-field advantage, and we need to exploit that edge,” Michael V. Hayden, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2006. “We also need to protect that edge, and we need to protect those who provide it to us.”

Five years later we are starting to see the infrastructure take shape.

Innocent until proven guilty. Otherwise they could charge you with murder and drop one on your head. I don't think you would be too pleased.

And yes socialism since even if we opt out, we have to pay a penalty that goes towards paying for other folks insurance. And this is forced.

Anyways, I say this new internet is worth a shot. At least it will remove some of the congestion and speed things up. Can you imagine how fast an entirely new internet would be?

It would be very nice if the terrorists would just come out an surrender and allow us to take them in to custody. Unfortunately that isnt possible and instead of letting them kill more Americans, we take them out.

I dont think that you know what socialism is. This health care law isnt socialist. You can get your own health care. No one is forcing you to get it.

Im sure it would be slow and buggy. Those countries are known for their efficiency and technological prowess. They have horrible human rights records and corruption problems. Not sure what this new internet would solve.

That may be, but terrorism is a crime, not a military action. As long as terrorism is a crime, it means Americans accused of terrorism have a right to a trial by jury. The Americans we've killed with drone strikes deserved a trial. Dorner deserved a trial (not killed via drone, but he was the first American to have a drone used against him on American soil). Innocent until proven guilty and a trial by a jury of our peers are the cornerstone of our legal system. If we're going to invent cases where those things no longer apply... then what sort of way of life are we fighting to protect?

The NSA went to far obviously. But people are acting as if spying isn't done worldwide? Also that even our allies have been caught recruiting spies here to spy upon us?

He was not killed by a drone. You really shouldnt believe everything infowars tells you. There has never been an american killed on american soil by a drone.
US law doesnt apply to them in other countries. US law applies to them in the US.

It is conceivable though that these countries could hire people with the proper skills and prowess.Yes we do have horrible human rights violation records-in my country we Still do,just a different admin screwing a different population demographic-same dog different string,as they say.
And from what I read,in the land of the free the walls are starting to close in too-SA has a massive crime problem, this country is practically the murder capital of the world, and of course corruption in government, but I still feel safer here than I would ever do in America.
I don't think the BRICS nations would have trouble finding the funds to hire personnel that would get the job done-and even in the people you hire for any job,you takes your chances.Even if none are compromised,or can be blackmailed or coerced into sabotaging the project from the start,I just do not think that is foolproof,or should I say spyproof.
People will just have to accept that you do not say things via any electronic media or over any cell or landline,if you wish to keep said things private. It sucks sometimes, but there you have it.We are just going to have to start keeping some facts or info pertaining to ourselves+our lives TO ourselves,if it is anything we really would not want known.
Goes back to personal responsibility,I guess.People will have to travel to personally speak to the ones they wish to divulge highly confidential info to,or anything they do not want strangers' spying eyes to see.Or just clam up+keep their secrets-that too,is an option.

I didn't say he was killed by a drone. As for US law not applying when someone is in another country, that would be a lot more believable if we didn't prosecute American citizens for breaking laws in other countries when they return to the US (if what they did on foreign soil was legal there and illegal here), or subjecting non American citizens on foreign soil to US law when we feel like it (Kim Dotcom, Julian Assange).

Can't have it both ways.

This is a waste of money. It will still be under surveillance by the NSA. Every chain has a weak link.
