Noble said that terrorists are seeking "soft targets" with lot of people and little security such as shopping malls

I love the quote about how it would have turned out in Texas or Colorado.......

...Well this is already a reality in the US. In all likelihood no one person or group of unorganized civilians is going to have much impact on an orchestrated attack.

I am in Colorado, and I tend to think that we have had a pretty decent amount of mass shootings...
So there is that.

Oregon Clackamas Mall shooting.

Clackamas mall shooter faced CCW carrier

My wife was in that mall, First thing she texted me while hiding in her stores inventory room was "I need my damn CCW".

She was probably 100ft from the shooting, though on the lower level.

What never got reported nationally, Why only two people where killed?

A CCW holder drew down on him and he ran, thats why.

One was a complete set up, mass murder by professional hit men : IE Theater shooting. Columbine was tragic but not one of them lasted for more than a few hours let alone a week or two like in Africa.

Oh rubbish. I've seen Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Live free or Die Hard, and A good day to Die Hard...

Obviously a man with a gun can take out a group of terrorists, numerous times.

Interpol are on the money with this one, guaranteed success.

I love how people state opinion as solid fact. That's why people sneer at conspiracy theorists in general. You all stick like mud to the rest of us.

It's why I prefer to remain 'sane' when not talking about this stuff to people.. I either find people walk away or start talking about how charles manson was a good guy and john f kennedy was a satanist or a martian or some complete crap..

thanks guys!

Let me guess...a soft target is someone who believes our founding fathers were highjacked shortly after 1776 and that there is no such thing as a democracy or republic.

I agree, people need to be armed and here in Canada am trying to work out how to be prepared. I had warning in a dream. My family was in a resort that was partly a mall for part of the dream. There were couples, children, old folk and suddenly a group of strong thugs with knives and cutting type weapons, starting attacking and killing everyone. Some tried to defend, picked up chairs, but these guys were prepared and lethal and they outreached nearly everyone. Now, when we were about to be hurt, suddenly I got lucid in the dream.

I just refused, said I wasn't willing to have this dream any longer and that it was pointless.

Then it appeared someone was giving me the dream for a woman spoke up and said, that this is what happens in real life, if people aren't armed and trained in self defense. This was the real thing as opposed to how people imagine they would defend themselves but can't when they're taken off guard.

You may be right but as I understand his point: A mall with 500 people and say only 10% are CHL or carry concealed..
Do you expect your troop of 10 or 15 bad guys to have free reign of executing unarmed civilians? If only half of the 10% tried to intervene that would be 25 armed guys/gals who would not die on their knees and would supposedly fight back.
Many CHLs are competition shooters who practice every weekend and would put most cops to shame if it was a shooting contest at any target. If a nation called for their population to be armed to help defend the homeland against terrorist there would be those who would get "trained up" if they perceived the threat to be real ... I don't believe it would work in many countries due to the factions already wanting to kill each other, but he does have a point. Even in America where CHL is allowed in states the crime rate has fallen... You would not believe it if all you listened to was the news sometimes.

More RTC, less crime: Since 1991, when violent crime peaked in the U.S., 24 states have adopted “shall issue” laws, replacing laws that prohibited carrying or that issued carry permits on a very restrictive basis; many other federal, state, and local gun control laws have been eliminated or made less restrictive; and the number of privately-owned guns has risen by about 100 million.5 The numbers of gun owners and firearms, RTC states, and people carrying firearms for protection have risen to all-time highs. Through 2010, the nation’s murder rate has decreased 52 percent to a 47-year low, and the total violent crime rate has decreased 48 percent to a 37-year low.6 The FBI preliminarily has reported that violent crimes decreased another 6.4 percent in the first half of 2011, translating into a seven percent decrease in the total violent crime per capita rate.7

RTC reduces crime: Studying crime trends in every county in the U.S., economist John Lott and David Mustard concluded, “allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons deters violent crimes. . . . [W]hen state concealed handgun laws went into effect in a county, murders fell by 8.5 percent, and rapes and aggravated assaults fell by 5 and 7 percent.”8

RTC success: Florida has issued the most carry permits–nearly 2 million—but revoked only 168 (0.008 percent) due to gun crimes by permit-holders.9 Former Colorado Asst. Atty. Gen. David Kopel: “Whenever a state legislature first considers a concealed carry bill, opponents typically warn of horrible consequences....But within a year of passage, the issue usually drops off the news media’s radar screen, while gun-control advocates in the legislature conclude that the law wasn’t so bad after all.”10 An article on Michigan’s RTC law: “Concerns that permit holders would lose their tempers in traffic accidents have been unfounded. Worries about risks to police officers have also proved unfounded.... National surveys of police show they support concealed handgun laws by a 3-1 margin....There is also not a single academic study that claims Right to Carry laws have increased state crime rates. The debate among academics has been over how large the benefits have been.”11

Background: Before 1987 there were 10 RTC states: Ind. Me., N.H., N.D., S.D. and Wash. had “shall issue” laws. Ala. and Conn. had fairly-administered discretionary-issue systems. Georgia’s law was interpreted as being “shall issue” in only some jurisdictions. Vermont allowed carrying without a permit. In 1987, Florida enacted a “shall issue” law that has since become a model for laws adopted in other states. Through 1992, Florida’s murder rate decreased 23 percent, while the U.S. rate rose nine percent; thereafter, murder decreased nationally and in Florida.12 Then-Florida Licensing Division Director John Russi noted, “Florida’s concealed weapon law has been very successful. All major law enforcement groups supported the original legislation....[S]ome of the opponents of concealed weapon legislation in 1987 now admit the program has not created the problems many predicted.”13 In a 1995 letter to state officials, Dept. of Law Enforcement Commissioner James T. Moore wrote, “From a law enforcement perspective, the licensing process has not resulted in problems.”

With the background checks for Concealed carry in most states in America and the numbers who have sought the license bad guys are finding in non gun free zones their free hand of crime is more like a Vegas casino instead of a sure deal.
www.nraila.org...

More than 76,000 licenses to carry concealed weapons were issued in Ohio last year the highest number reported in the state since the licensing began in 2004, the state attorney general reported Wednesday.
Statistics released from Attorney General Mike DeWine's office show 64,650 new licenses and 12,160 renewal licenses issued last year. The new licenses were also the most in a single year since Ohio's law allowing citizens to carry concealed handguns went into effect.

...Well this is already a reality in the US. In all likelihood no one person or group of unorganized civilians is going to have much impact on an orchestrated attack.

A few points: it's not reality in the US. While just about everyone who isnt a felon or mental patient can carry in one way or another very few people actually do. Even among permit holders (in many states a permit is required simply to own a handgun so many permit holders may never intend to carry ever).

So, no, it's not reality in the US. Unfortunately the majority of people are perfectly happy to be helpless day in and day out.

On the point of "organized attack" well, not really. It doesnt take a Patton to round up a dozen friends and hold a building hostage. Especially when those people are willing to die for their cause. At the risk of inviting federal visitors over for coffee I game this sort of thing all the time. Every transfer station, treatment plant, transformer relay, office building, apartment building, the entire downtown area. What what I need to accomplish X and how would I do it. It's not hard to plan and cause chaos on the levels we've seen and more. Which is why I take personal responsibility for my life and the lives of others with first responder training and regular firearm qualification/training.

As far as the impact, that's relative and dependent on an infinite number of factors. What is an absolute fact is that every second and every bullet spent by the enemy engaging an armed citizen is a second and a bullet not focused on other victims. It's the essence of cover fire. Popping a round off toward the enemy every now and then limits their ability to successfully complete their goal.
