Of course we've all heard the song by The Bare Naked Ladies "If I had a million dollars"

but we all know that that's simply not enough any more, which is crazy in and of itself, so anyway, if you HAD an actual or could say lasso in a BILLION dollars, and where there's one of those there must be another one where it came from - what would you DO?

Seriously.

A new third party in the USA might be a good thing if you were an American, or maybe even if you weren't..

Solving starvation or clean water, where the need is the greatest, that might be good. "God comes to the starving in the form of food" said Ghandi.

We would of course by this point have everything and anything that WE could need so for most of us our heart turns to that which is in everyone's absolute mutual best interest. But what would that BE? If you could seriously change the world by creating a multi-billion dollar 'funnel' of capital, and dispensing it wherever you like what kind of choices would you make, both in terms of your own life, but moreso precisely what you would CHOOSE for the world at large and how would you impact our world for the better?

I'll return and say what i would do, but to be honest i'm looking for guidance here and yes i do have a little idea tucked away just to make sure that it's not IMpossible.. and therefore not completely outside the realm of conceivable where every good idea no matter where it comes from has it's origin..

And if you yourself just so happen to be a future (or present - not) BILLIONAIRE, then this thread might be of great benefit to you also and through you the rest of us, or am i seriously underestimating the power of money, when it's in the right hands and hearts..? i don't think so, it's plenty powerful in a certain way, if used wisely...

So... $1,000,000,000 +++???!

Go wild.

Sky's the limit.

Honestly at this point, I'd give it back to the Elite (whomever "they" are) in return for leaving the earth the hell alone for their greedy corrupted intentions.

If I had a billion dollars, i'd buy you a man in black, but not just a man in black, all the men in black, because black police cars.

If I had a billion dollars, well i'd buy you Fox news, but not the real Fox news cuz that's hoax

If I had a billion dollars, i'd buy you a UFO, but not a real UFO, cuz that's swamp gas .. n stuff..

If I had a billion dollars, i'd buy you another billion dollars, but not an actual billion dollars cuz loans and printed money

If I had a billion dollars, i'd buy you a new puppy, but actually I wouldn't buy you a puppy because that's like buying a baby on the blackmarket and that's cruel . um

You could create your own charitable organization...

You're not going to hog it ALL to yourself are you?

I do know what you mean by the cars the vacation, the penthouse suites, etc, but like king Solomon "vanity vanity - all is vanity!" we might discover rather quickly that these things have their limits, so we'd need something really awesome to celebrate and in the process justify the first billion and go for the second.

It can't just be all about lavishing on ourselves, although a certain amount of that is certainly called for relative to the crappy life we might have been living, financially, to date.

I would and will try to make everyone else a MILLIONAIRE!

That would be fun to make millionaires of average Joes, and then create an ongoing series of parties and celebrations of OUR mutual success, that's what i'd like to do, and it would be fun, up to a point... as with everything, and then you're back to Solomon's predicament of "having it all" and then some.

Hey that's exactly what i was thinking!

Great minds think alike.

Make it rain money.

We could sell our products and services all over the world via the NET in every language known to man, and haul the money right back into the good 'ol USA, and i'm Canadian but that's just the way we roll..

a billion dollars isn't enough? For who?
Man Id be happy with a couple million
Someone asked before "What would you do if you had a 100 million?"
I should have said "I'd claim it." Know why? Because to my knowledge.. I don't have it.
There is only one person who knows what to do with their money. That's the owner. and no one will spend your money the way you want them to. Best to do it yourself and take care of yourself first. The decide what to do with the rest.

buy a house, tanks, no cars, i want some stuarts, i would buy a whole bunch of plants so i could smoke until my dying day, some rifles, pistols, some ammo, the boat from apocalypse now with the forward 50's and the m-60, a few thousand rounds for each gun, some remote control go karts to shoot with tanks, a submarine with full auto harpoon guns so i can go finding the colossal giant squid, killing him, taking pictures, then feeding a Filipino village

First I would buy a house because I have never owned my own home. Then, I would buy a new car because we have never owned a new car and ours is falling apart. I would invest in something to keep the money coming in so that I could help people, animals, the enviroment, research for cures for diseases and all things good.

Here is the boat that i would like to have. They're only about ten million a piece.

I say "have" instead of "own" because hey everything's just stuff and kind of just 'on loan' anyway, nothing to get bent out of shape over, but it sure would be FUN to fly along in a "boat" the size of a Blue Whale, at 41 knots!

NewAgeMan

The Pershing 92 was designed for a very specific yachtsman or yachtswoman: one who wants both a luxurious motoryacht and high speed -- say, something like 40 knots. Combining those two requirements in a 92' yacht that typically can weigh 100 tons or more is not easy. But to those who like the adrenaline rush that comes from high speed in any vehicle, there is nothing like 40 knots in a large yacht. Let's find out how Pershing does it and what it is like.

The Pershing 92 is one of the fastest fiberglass production motoryachts in class thanks to lightweight construction, big engines and surface-piercing props.

Pershing Yachts is part of the Ferretti Group and this brand has been known since its founding in the 1980s for three things: speed, luxury and style. To a great degree, Pershing has been on the cutting edge of Italian nautical styling that has captured the imagination of the world. If you have ever seen a Pershing at a boat show or at the dock in its signature metallic silver, then you know that it is a hard image to forget. That is why, over the years, Pershing's style, lines and color have been much imitated. But the new Pershing 92 is the real thing.

The Mission

The mission of the Pershing 92 is to transport her guests in utter luxury to most anywhere they want to go as fast or faster than virtually any production 90' motoryacht on the water. For Pershing, that means traveling over 40 knots. Further, Pershing does that with reasonable power.

Most major metropolitan areas on a coast have a destination resort easily within striking distance of the 92, in terms of both range and time. For example, in the Med all of the Balearic Islands are within 200 nm of Barcelona, Porto Cervo is less than 200 nm from Rome, virtually all of the Greek islands are within 200 nm of Athens. That means in five hours a party can be taken to any one of hundreds of resort destinations.

In the U.S. most of the Bahamas are within 300 miles of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, or Palm Beach. Nantucket is only 250 miles from Wall Street. Bar Harbor is only 210 miles from Boston Commons. The North Channel in Canada is only 250 miles from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

With a range of 385 nautical miles at 38 knots the Pershing 92 can reach most any regional destination in a few hours without stopping for more fuel.

Distinguishing Features

Speed.

We have not tested the Pershing 92 so we cannot verify the claims of the builder. Nevertheless, because the boat has been built extremely light, and because she is powered by twin 16V MTU diesels generating up to 2,638-hp driving through surface-piercing props, we will take Pershing at its word. Pershing says the 92 will travel over 40 knots. We also are told that best cruise is about 38 knots and there the boat has a range of 385 nautical miles. Few, if any, boats in class can match this performance.

Lightweight.

The Pershing 92 is significantly lighter than six other will-known brands in this size-range that we checked. While that light weight allows her to go faster, it also means that she will burn less fuel when slowed down to the speeds where the other boats are normally run, say 15 to 20 knots. When we say "light", we mean 152,000 lbs. (69,090 kgs.) dry.

Styling. As noted, Pershing's style is distinctive and while it has evolved over the last 15 years, there is still no mistaking one of her sisters -- particularly if she is dressed in metallic silver. And her sleek styling is also aerodynamically correct, reducing air resistance to a minimum, much like a Lamborghini.

Garage.

The boat has a relatively wide and deep garage in the stern. In fact, it is so deep that the 92 is designed to handle both a tender and a jet ski, side by side. There are two "railways" from the garage right into the water for easy launching and retrieval. The jet ski comes standard with the boat.

Galley.

The galley is on the centerline and is flanked on either side by crew quarters. That is a crew bed in the background at left.

Galley below and aft. Europeans like their galleys out of sight and out of mind. The best way to do that is to re-position this area below, so that is what Pershing has done. But Pershing had an even better idea -- put the galley aft of the center of the boat on the centerline. From a chef's point of view this might be the best place on the boat because of reduced motion -- low, in the center of the boat and amidships. Access is via a stairway in the port corner of the saloon so that meals can be easily served both to the aft deck or the dining table forward.

Interior Décor.

Color. Pershing has used an earth-tone pallet for both the saloon and the accommodations of the 92. The builder relies heavily on Canaletto walnut wood with a horizontal pattern. This is augmented with ebony. Fabrics, wall coverings, and overhead panels are in shades of tan, sand, and light brown. Both black, white and gray anthracite-colored lacquer is used on overhead panels, bulkhead accents and overhead battens.

Lighting.

Pershing uses LED lighting wherever possible thus reducing the hazard of fire and conserving on electricity at the same time. Soft touch dimmer switches are used throughout the boat.

Décor details.

Poltrona Frau Leather is used extensively on the 92, particularly on headboards in the staterooms and in accents. Virtually all of the furniture and cabinets are made of Canaletto walnut and ebony. Carpet covers the GRP soles throughout the boat.

We would characterize the furniture both in the saloon and below as contemporary and in all cases it looks comfortable. We particularly like the mattress-on-platform treatment of the beds below, something found both in Europe and in Asia in five-star hotels. The interior bulkheads of the shower stalls are finished in mosaic which we find more attractive than fiberglass or lacquered composite which is usually used in this class of boat.

Virtually all curtains are electrically actuated as are hidden flat screen TVs and other devices.

I would buy my own little town, about 30- 40 acres, add houses for my children and family, a farm, a giant full sustainable greenhouse, with everything I could ever want, and NOT need cash for. Then I would put ads in all news papers across the country, stating that everyone with an idea that will also make then sustainable without the use of cash will get $$$ to get that started, under contractual obligation of course, they would have to buy land no less then 1 acre in a place of their choice, and they must PAY IT FORWARD.

About 50 million will go to an underground bunker, where all those with free energy ideas, that get suppressed can make all of these things and then some. These folks will get their ideas out, and a guarantee to never need again, as I would make sure that they have fully paid homes and necessities, and of course under contract they must GIVE at least one of those inventions to a severely impoverished country.

With all of this giving, I am sure there will be volunteers, but I would like to dedicate 1 month every year that everyone I helped to get their resources together and help 100 families, and secretly buy 1 acre at a time for a child that is in the system (foster care/home/no parents) that they will receive on their 18th birthday, and when they come of age, will have the full support and help that everyone before them received.

Last but not least, I get to have a reunion until I die with all of those people!!

Peace, NRE.
