I think its wonderful to see members getting along in the physical world as opposed to across the net. This is what community is all about, and it's great to see the pair of you taking it to its fullest extent!

Something i forgot to mention last night for which i think is worthwhile sharing with our fellow members here are the tons of pork pies, midget gem sweets and lovely bottle of whisky that Cody and Mrs C kindly offered to us... Well, the whisky was partly to cover the 30 quid that i had to fork out to prove to the town hall that i did/do in fact live in France...

However, maybe it might be an idea that you tell everyone how much YOU had to fork out at the customs desk for having overweight baggage when checking in?

Over to you...

Kindest respects

Rodinus

Ps. That bottle of whisky is still a quarter full and every time i approach the bar in the kitchen in vicinity of the bottle my liver starts nagging and saying "Don't even think about it buddy or i will pack in on you!"

You have to cook them first before trying to swallow them

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes the request list

It's a funny thing when live abroad just what you miss, when I lived away I really missed marmite, decent cheese and good wine.

So when Rod asked if we could bring some English delicacies it came as no surprise.

What did he ask for, not what you might think

Midgit gems (an English candy for kids) a decent bottle of scotch, some Viz magazines and of all things a pork pie !!!!

So off on the hunt I went, tracked down the first three items with ease, but with Rod coming from the north of England only best pork pies would do, we hunted high and low to no avail. Then Mrs C had an epiphany "The local butcher babes, let's try the local butcher"

SUCCESS

Not just any old pork pie, 4 different types

So at the airport I weigh my bags and bugger me if they weren't overweight.
What to do what to do ?
No way was I going to leave the scotch (that's a no brainer) £60 to pay, hang on a quick repack at the check in transferring stuff to hand luggage etc.

£40 later and by now running late for the flight we literally had to run for the gate and made as they announced the flight was closing, some quick talking and a wicked smile later we just, and I mean just, made the flight

60 quid???

The bottle still had the duty free sticker on it and it said £8.99

I must admit that those Viz mags are still in the downstairs bog and have been read from back to front and inside out over 10 times!

Right, time for me to run off and have a shower before doing a little work.

Will be back later folks... No doubt Cody will get back here before me whilst he is sitting on the works bog.

Kindest respects
