Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes the request list
It's a funny thing when live abroad just what you miss, when I lived away I really missed marmite, decent cheese and good wine.
So when Rod asked if we could bring some English delicacies it came as no surprise.
What did he ask for, not what you might think
Midgit gems (an English candy for kids) a decent bottle of scotch, some Viz magazines and of all things a pork pie !!!!
So off on the hunt I went, tracked down the first three items with ease, but with Rod coming from the north of England only best pork pies would do,
we hunted high and low to no avail. Then Mrs C had an epiphany "The local butcher babes, let's try the local butcher"
Not just any old pork pie, 4 different types
So at the airport I weigh my bags and bugger me if they weren't overweight.
What to do what to do ?
No way was I going to leave the scotch (that's a no brainer) £60 to pay, hang on a quick repack at the check in transferring stuff to hand luggage
£40 later and by now running late for the flight we literally had to run for the gate and made as they announced the flight was closing, some quick
talking and a wicked smile later we just, and I mean just, made the flight
