Didn't you know? It's because the "gods" are compassionate towards their messengers. They want these people to write books and earn a lot of money selling them to gullible people while failing to provide any substantial proof of anything.

Yes, some people write for money. However, I do not think anybody will be spending money on this.

Why do these "new gods" only seem to wish to communicate with specially selected seers?

These are not "new gods", they are of the oldest gods in Terrestrial memory, dating back at least 6000 - 8000 years. The "seers" are not specially selected either, they are simply the ones that "can" receive the message.

Course now this all depends on whether the original message is real or not.
