they did not really pirate it since shareware is free, you can violate the terms of its use by removing the tags the developer puts within the code he wrote, but that's not considered pirating by most developers since the code was not for sale, calling it piracy is weird from a developer standpoint since we tend to see it as infringement but not theft.

That aside I cannot believe they did this on a website that would be certainly targeted and viewed by millions, as pointed out there no need to reinvent the wheel (god how many times have you said that in meetings, Its like "thinking outside the box" during the dot com boom) but disregard for the simple request coders ask when they offer up their hard work for free is LAME.
