Or, in this dark vast emptiness called the universe, we are completely alone. No one watching over, no one coming to rescue us. Just all on our own. Scares you doesn't it?

Well they know now there thousands of suns and countless planets so it would literally mathematically impossible for us to be the only life out there. How vain would you be to think so. It is crazy to look into the stars at night and believe there is no life out there.

For me it is impossible to see the vastness of the stars and not have enough imagination to believe there is more than us out there.

I have to agree. If the universe is infinite, then we cannot be the only life. And we are really young compared to the rest of the universe. Imagine if there was a planet that was just as we are today, except that planet was like us 2 billion years ago. Can you even comprehend what we would be like if Earth was still here 2 billions years from now!?!? What we would accomplish as a species. NO YOU CANT, CAUSE ITS 2 BILLIONS YEARS IN THE FUTURE!

Who really wants to know a bunch of aliens, who, for the last sixty odd years, have been abducting us and implanting all sorts of crazy stuff into us? Would you trust anything they said?

All these ways they try to "send messages" to us, implants, abductions, corn circles, # scary visits in the middle of night, when all they'd have to do would be to send us all one BIG message that everyone unmistakably hears and clearly understands....

If the abovementioned ET cared about the future of Earth and its inhabitants, they sure could find a less traumatic way of delivering the message. The trauma inflicted in these people betrays the supposed benevolence.

Not if the trauma itself is the real message, or there is some other purpose.

Which would explain why an overly simplistic message, that varies in detail if not in basic premise on a case to case basis, delivered supposedly by numerous different types of ET, is given to individuals who are not in any position to act upon in a manner to effect any change.

Maybe the save the world message is part of the rules of contact - the generic cover story.
