What is Faith? All things are accomplished by faith.

Heb 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

It was faith that accomplished everything, from the moon landing, to climbing a mountain, to building a chair.

You, through faith, have a vision of something not seen, not existing yet or hidden to us in this world at our time and place, and through faith we work to make it happen in this world, or in a Biblical context God works whether we see Him or not. What faith is, is of something we hope for, and in the bottom of everyone's heart is a desire to live forever, not as we are, but in a more perfect way, something that captures only the fondest of memories.

Belief can get you a lot. But not everything you want. If people didn't keep raising the hurdle we would be a lot more content with life.

The writer of Hebrews was talking about people who were ready to give up on being Christians because it didn't seem to be helping their social status and was causing them some persecution actually, by being associated in the minds of some Roman authorities with the rebels in Judea, who would consider whoever their leader was, as a "Christ".

Good thread and words. Faith is God's work in us. It is the development of trust in the reciprocal relationship of consciousness between us and our creator. True faith is being faithful. This cannot happen one way. It must be both ways.

All things are NOT accomplished BY faith.Salvation is BY grace THROUGH faith.Grace is the action of salvation it is through faith and both grace and faith are given by God it is not mans faith that changes (repents) them.

Faith is a conduit of the priming of the pump of grace ..the action/process of salvation ,faith is not the action.Yahoshua made it very clear when he told some Jews that only "believed" in him..IF you CONTINUE in my word then you are truly my disciple and you will KNOW the truth and the truth will make you free."

By its nature faith is not knowing .Gods purpose is for ALL of mankind to "know" (commune) with God,...and ALL of mankind will commune with God it starts through faith first however... there is an end to faith.Yahoshua (Gods salvation) is the author and "finisher" of our faith.The beginning and the end.When faith ends then you will KNOW God and be made free.Salvation is a process that is infinite ...it is not an event or period of time.Everyone in their own order.

It is not faith that gets you there it is intention to do something. You can have extreme amounf of faith and still choose to do nothing. It is when you intend something and act that you are changing the reality around you and even can find a symbiotic relationship with a unknown friend .

What about world peace? Can it accomplish that? Not so far, obviously.
