I think the Tea party should contact SpaceX and sign up for the Mars one way program, to form the First Martian colony.

Democrats are just a trainwreck. Look at every state they manage, it turns to crap.

This would make the system even worse, even more corporate-based than it is right now.

If Tea Party joined there would be centre-right (Democrats), right (Conservatives) and far-right (Tea Party). In my eyes, that would create disastrous effects in the long run.

Interesting that you view them that way.

I see them as Democrat-left, GOP-left, and right-Tea Party.

In broadest terms I tend to look at the left -> right scale as people (public) -> corporations (private) & community -> individuals. I personally believe in balance or a centre-left system myself, as I never see extremes working out well.

US is a strongly right-leaning country compared to what I am used to seeing here in centre-left country.
However I look at US parties, both are doing rather right-wing (especially Republicans) than left-wing decisions, whether it comes to taxes, environment, especially the corporation-serving policies. Certain Democrat policies tend to be more left-leaning, while many are right-leaning, that´s why centre-right.

Cheers.

The whole left-right issue is somewhat obscure even more so when I see the major political parties endorsing more government, more laws, more authority.

Personally, I'd like to see a "Leave Me The Hell Alone" Party emerge.

As an independent I wish they would. If the Tea party split from the republican party, it SHOULD force a national discussion on third parties. I hope at that point people might actually look into their options like the Green Party, Libertarian, Justice Party, Constitution Party, or even the communist party what ever, I don't care. I just know that once people actually look into these parties, they will find something that appeals to them more.

60% of Americans say fire all of congress, but they continue sending the same two parties and getting the same results. I think a new party, what ever that party may be, would be more driven to make a positive mark on our nation's history because they aren't as jaded with the power they've held forever.

That said I think the Tea party is far to extreme and it has been a roadblock to an serious talks. I honestly feel like republicans of the past where much easier to take serious. I could disagree with old school republicans and still feel like I was having a respectable philosophical disagreement, the tea party republicans are becoming a little to hard to engage in serious conversations with because they seem to defy logic at every turn.

I know what the tea party is supposed to be, but what they have actually become is a an extreme right obstacle that's dividing the right, and turning people off.

For a more liberal minded person, the division of the right isn't a problem to me, it means more victories, but as a person who is also unhappy with the democratic party, I feel the need for a responsible 2nd voice that can act as the check and balance for this country. I don't think the current republican/tea parties are capable of offering that at the moment.

Most American people fall in the middle; anyone that is willing to compromise a little with both Rep's & Dem's I would consider being an Independent.

There can be no compromise with socialist-fascists who care nothing for the Constitutional rule of law.

I think you are being a little too rough on the GOP. Granted they seem a little to obsessive with that "mexican" issue but that can be sorted out thru meditation and prayer. Sure, on the surface it looks like the GOP is eating it's young but that's just part of their strategy to lure those progressives into complacency.

I want to see a RHINO party by today's standards we could get another Reagan that way. Let's face it he wouldn't stand a chance now they would claim he was to weak.

Yes, please break off from the GOP.

Then we will have a small minority, far right crazy party.

A larger minority, right wing party.

And a large majority, left wing party.

Please do so...quickly.

Should the Tea Party split from the GOP?

Oh hell yeah! It's the GOP that's dragging you down, that's it!

Don't know why they didn't think of it sooner!

I mean, if not the GOP, what else could it be?

If I were a Tea Partier who just couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why the masses didn't like having my perfect ideology shoved down their throats, I'd look to the words of Michael Jackson's song; "Man In The Mirror"

"If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make the change."

There is nothing that shows leadership quality in making our country look weak just to get votes.

I think the progressives are going to be in a little shock come election time.

Regardless of Tea Party activity.

But by all means, enjoy your victories while you still can.

We have the "Log Cabin Republicans", A gay organization. What of the Tea Party? I call for the "Chai Party", for the Truly FABULOUS Republicans! So to answer your question yes! Split baby split! AND all the tight passed straight people can go to the Tea Party and the tight passed gay people (oxymoron alert) can go to the Chai Party. FABULOUS!

How is this a victory? Seriously? They are all to blame but the TP was the worst part of this. They could have been working for YEARS on this but waited to cry at the last moment. There was no victory for anyone.

There was no victory! Why are you still attached to the left/right paradigm. I thought you had moved on.

I'm curious...how did you think the 2012 elections were going to turn out?

Were you correct about your assumptions?
