BBC reporting at least 93 fatalities...

At least 93 people have been reported dead after a magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit the central Philippines.

An official from the government agency which monitors earthquake activity was quoted as saying that this was the strongest tremor felt in the area in the last 23 years.

Death toll climbs to 183 in Philippines earthquake

(CNN) -- The death toll from the magnitude-7.1 earthquake in the central Philippines rose Saturday to 183, authorities said.

The massive quake, which struck Tuesday, also destroyed more 8,600 homes in Quezon City, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

The bulk of the casualties were in Bohol province.

In an update issued Saturday, the council said 583 people were injured and 13 were missing.

many structures in a radius very far from center are deemed unfit and with 7 major after shocks today alone people are cracking up...one suicide in our village

Many aftershocks will continue in days ahead from this strong and shallow EQ, I know is very bad situation there but you all needs to be patient and calm in next days ..

Think probably nothing stronger will not come there from M 5.5, max around M 5.8 and that good ..

Needs days and time to calm down the situation there ..


Anyway with EQ's you can't be never 100% confident or similar ..

People fell very hard for false information that was circulating like wild fire via text and facebook today about an imminent 8.0 with some giving exact times with in the next 24 hours. It even made it to radio making the taxi driver very scary at times actually as we where riding home from airport...people in the streets, lots of drinking to pass out.

People of Cebu and beyond....please think before you post or text. People are cracking up and killing themselves out of fear over FALSE information spread on Facebook and texting with a False warnings of an 8.0 earthquake striking Cebu tonight or tomorrow...THIS IS FALSE!
Please spread logic, love and comfort and above all...facts!
