The US depends on its people being calm and happy. That is why the US has no internal security forces and its military has little to no training in that area.

In the end the US would be hard pressed to control one major city under matial law. To do so at a national level would require over 9 million men at the very least. And that would require more that half the soldiers on Earth to show up.

I think your first statement Is what makes the next one possible.

Most of America is calm and happy. the sprawling suburbs practically police themselves. Most Americans obey LE, no question. Poor neighborhoods are the most condensed in population. They will need the most containment and patrols, and they already do. Poor neighborhoods already have a ridiculous number of police on patrols/sq km.

With municipal, state, federal, federal, federal.... you could easily lock down city without needing the national guard or the army. How much extra training do you need? There would be no time to organize a mass presence and when people see a badge and a gun 99/100 take their orders.

How did the exercise in Boston go? I would say there was excellent public and media support for what ever BS came down the pipe line. Looked like a successful urban takeover.

We are fine man. People who decided to make something of themselves, get at least some education and experience outside of Xbox are doing just fine. I spent the weekend on the boat with good friends drinking good beer, eating good food in a safe place. Those who live in Chicago where you rely on government and get shot at are just pretty stupid to be there. Lots of land here. We have the best farm lands on earth and we will be ok.

You have fun. Go have a beer.

Boston was a single day and it cost $333 million. Now that you know any sort of martial law is impossible to enforce you have to jump to people being complient which they would maybe for about a day. Of course as often as not they are out taking advantage of the situation like during Katrina.

I do agree with you that to maintain marshal law is next
to impossible. It has never worked. But if it HAD to work for
reasons i couldn't speculate or dare attempt to prove, I
think it could. Obviously there would have to be systems for
food and public works. If that were to happen there would need
to be preparations that I doubt could go unnoticed by watchdogs
and media.

We could be easily penned. But I think it would work better after
an "event" so huge the people run to LEO and government to help.
That is the only way you would get the patients you need to streamlime
a camp operation.

There has to be a plan drawn up in some military war room.
Doesnt the US have a plan to overthrow everyone. Is there a moral
roadblock stoppimg them from having a plan to occupy its own country?

The only risk to the US gov't and the Central Bankers is the rest of the world, they are the only ones 'en masse' who understand that America is going into lockdown as the 21 Century Technocratic Fascist/Socialist State EMERGES.

LOL. When the US starts keeping its nose and hands out of
other peoples business.... then maybe we will stay out of their
business.

Plus the American people should not take for granted that
there are people out there who even care enough to pay attention.

The US depends on its people being calm and happy. That is why the US has no internal security forces and its military has little to no training in that area. Anytime we see unrest be it riots or a natural disaster the USs ability to control the area is revealed as severly lacking. Of course we are not even at the point of large scale peaceful protests like we were during the Iraq war and not anywhere near the unrest in the 60, 70s. I suppose that is why the US so completely unprepared for internal problems.

If this were the 90's, I would agree with you wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, I don't believe that paradigm exists anymore.

Maybe you've overlooked the last 13 years have given rise to the Patriot Act, the implementation and expansion of the DHS (and all of their military sized acquisitions), the NDAA, the TSA, the expansion of the roll of FEMA, the ongoing militarization of local LEAs, and the revelations (at least publicly) of the breadth of the NSA's control over all aspects of communication.

You also seem to be misinformed training of the military (in particular the Army) to assist in domestic upheaval, so I've provided a couple of links for you . . .

USArmy Internment/Resettlement Spec Job listing

U.S. Internment and Resettlement Operations Manual
edit on 10/12/13 by solomons path because: (no reason given)

This is where people get confused. DHS does not exist as an entity it is umbrella for lots of other organizations. DHS will not pull the coast guard of its ships, the border patrol off the border, TSA out of the airports, customs people out of their terminals, the Secret Service off of protecting the president and counterfitting to form some big interenal police force while leaving the country wide open to anything. And military does have small part of it that has training in resetlment and interment of course. Being as dealing with refugees like like in Jordan and Turkey need such people. They however are a small group and mostly designed to coordiante with host nations and NGOs. The fact is doctrince requires x amount of troops to contain x amount of people over x amount of space and that those forces coordinate with local law enforcement and governments. That number would require about 9 million troops minimum for a light level of martial law in the US. Needless to say that is completely impossible even if the entire Russian and Chinese armies left home to help.

Thank you, some folks are hard headed. US veterans know the manuals he referenced began from the need that came out of Kuwait and Iraq and by no means directed at our own people. In the end it will not be the military anyway. These are sons, brothers, young men and women who would not fire on their own people.

It will be private contractors and foreign troops if it were to happen. Once you get them unarmed it is not hard to control crowds, especially if you are willing to use deadly force. There are so many weapons in America it would be difficult to control the population in the end.

Let us pray we never have to truly find the answers.

They could be trying to provoke you into the next Arab Springs so that they can use force on you or worse.

Things are bad, dont get me wrong, but i dont think we are about to see the "American spring".

People are getting all uptight about this shut down, yes it bad, but the government has shut down loads of times in the past and it all worked out in the end.

The same will probably happen this time, America will avoid default because everyone on the hill will just shut up about obamacare and move on, they wont let America default.

Even if it does, I still dont think there will be a violent revolution of any kind.

EDIT

Since posting this thread though I thought what if it's the Chinese or other hackers trying to frame the government.

errr what?

When you say it shut down a few times in the past and it ended out fine in the end, you have to realize that this is entirely different and the outcome of this shutdown could mean the end of privacy, security, and personal responsibility. The creation of a two-class system and the destruction of America as we know it. It would effectively be the nail in the coffin and the beginning of turning the US into a third world country without hope of ever returning. That's where the difference lies.

Naw......

People are Lazy in America.

As long as America is entranced with its Honey Boo Boo and American Idols, They will not revolt.

Take away Government programs such as welfare though, and you might have a problem.

Recently I spoke with someone about the sad state of the nation affair. This guy, in his 40's, seemed as healthy as a horse, but on welfare/medical assistance. He owned three cars and went on holidays regularly...basically living off taxpayer's dough, I suspected. A mention of the corrupt government set him off on wild fire and he defended it like a pit bull would of her pups. So yeah, I agree...it's not gonna happen until they take away the broken welfare system.

This is the typical American way, just sit back, rant, rave a little online, and go on with your day.

From where I'm from, if we don't like something, we take it to the streets, we rally, we protest, we exercise our right to speak our minds, but not on some forum, and not online cuz it won't do much.

Think for a sec what you would do if you suddenly had no Internet access? USELESS unless you guys do something asides from sitting at home reading what I'm currently typing. Americans are too peaceful, and too controllable.

I would also like to add to my OP that they could very well use divide and conquer tricks on you too.

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole Rep\Dem thing was collusion between the parties to bring about stuff like this lockdown. They are just two sides of the same coin

The real arguments are not between them but rather their followers.

I think now more than ever that they are playing the American people. Keep your cool peeps, abusers always drive the victims to fight back so they can punish them for it.

Don't let that be you.

Take away food stamps and the USA would explode into revolution. It looks to me like all in all no one in the USA will ever do anything against the government unless they touch their welfare checks. We have so many people getting government hand outs that no one can stand up to them. Same on a state to fed basis too. One thing this shutdown should do is wake you all up to that.

There will be no riots, no revolt, no nothing. Unless....omgosh.....unless THE FOOD STAMPS!

I dunno whether to laugh at Americans or be ashamed of them.

Some people rely on the food stamps because of no fault of their own. People should be helping them so they don't have the need to riot. Not be poked with sticks and laughed at because of their situation.

That could be any of us the way things are going. Is that how you want people to react when you lose your job?
