at least until legislation allows the australian police force the right to carry military grade automatic
weapons
And I saw the pictures of the 30 arrested bikies in a paper too.
By the pictures of some of these bikie types, you can only come to the conclusion that they are major losers.
You see these types hanging around, and they are some of the worst looking loser thug types I have seen since I moved to Oz about a year ago. It's a shame they can't try to become viable members of Oz society.
While these types are major loser thug types,
These bikies are like the mafia... and sell drugs to these kids, and ruin their lives, or help to I should say.

Frankly you would need military involvement to clean up the Gold Coast
Even our military doesn't have that sort of fire-power to clean up GC!
At the end of the day these gangs are only supplying for the demand, while I agree something has to be done about all the misuse of party drugs particularly around schoolies events the issue is larger than just a arresting a few figures and confiscating a few firearms.
For the most part the bike gangs seem to be targeting only other gangs not involving bystanders, in my opinion the force was to have 1000 officers simultaneously search every known gang house was excessive over 2x firearms (which were never found) and a truck with a stolen engine in it.

A group of more than a dozen army and Taskforce Echo police officers swooped on the property in Technical Drive, Craigieburn, around 8.45am to search the vehicle, which was believed to contain stolen parts.
Police escorted a man, who arrived in a ute with another man shortly after the search began, off the property before the men drove away.
Prime mover with allegedly stolen parts seized from bikies by police and military(AUS)
Not sure what is going on here but seems like the military are doing joint operations with the police.
Not sure how unusual this is.
Anyone Know if this is unusual?
Is this training them for a bigger operation?
But the raids have proved once again that the criminals will always have weapons, gun bans or no gun bans.
(Hope I put this in the right place.)

From what I can gather the Army was called in simply because they had a truck big enough to tow the "Prime Mover". From the looks of it the Army blokes weren't armed.
THE Army could join forces with Queensland Police to wage war against outlaw bikie gangs.
Australian Defence Force personnel yesterday assisted Victorian Police in a raid on a Hells Angels' property in Melbourne.
And Queensland Police Minister Jack Dempsey is ready to consider any request from police here if they want to enlist military support in the bikies battle.
"It would be a matter for the Commissioner (Ian Stewart) to raise if he felt the QPS required the assistance of any other agency," a spokeswoman for Mr Dempsey said.

your observations about Australia are about as accurate as me watching an episode of the dukes of hazard and assuming that is what America is like, and writing up some pompous observation of it.....

The weapons they are looking for are military only issue. Much like the rocket launcher that was 'found' in errant civilian possession a few years ago, the last time they had joint searches. Military believe someone has been leaking ammo and guns out of bases here, again. No biggy. Nothing really to do with the fact its bikers other than they have acquired the weapons, its more about who's leaking.
