You see, we all belong to a group called "Us" and we dislike the "Thems" because they are not like "Us"

Them's are simply anti-us so they obviously can't be we.

Of course "Thems" claim to be the we but obviously are the total opposite of the we.

"Us" don't need "thems" to tell we who to be.

See?

This probably is the best description of the problem in America that I have seen in ages. No cerebral flatulence, just raw truth.

Anyone who doesn't agree with the liberal ideology is labeled a conservative.

Just like anyone who doesn't support the republicans/tea party is labeled a Marxist/socialist/communist etc. So what's your point?

I vote for democrats because they are not bible-thumping bigots. I don't vote for Libertarians because I believe in the part of the preamble that says "to provide for the general welfare..." The only welfare the libertarians seem to care about is their own, and that just doesn't jive with the idea that our nation is a collective.

Show me a socially liberal candidate that can trim the government down while still providing a safety net for the least of my fellow Americans, and I'll happily pull the lever for them.

Ron Paul had me until he started saying things like (to paraphrase) if a business or state wants to discriminate that is their right. We had a war over states' rights and the states' rights side lost.

I think as a nation, we'd be better off electing the house of reps the way England elects the House of Commons, by party not by person, then everyone would truly br represented.

Most Libertarians I've spoken to are Libertarian. Just because we also happen to disagree with the Democrats' platform of big government doesn't immediately make us Republican. You should read up on what Libertarians want and stand for. Protip: Republicans aren't for the end of the Drug War as well as legalizing all victimless crimes (such as gambling, prostitution, and any other things you can do with you and your property without effecting others).

Democrats are leading the charge in applying false labels to others to make them look bad. You are a prime example of doing just that. How about thinking before you speak so you can keep you foot out of your mouth? Unless you enjoy the taste of toe cheese...

They dont believe in freedom and cannot fathom anyone else would so anyone claiming to be "libertarian" is just lying to make Republicans look less evil than they are.

You dont really believe the state should not be sanctioning peoples private relationships you're just trying to find a backdoor to banning gay marriage.

You dont really want to reform drug laws you're trying to kill more poor people.

It makes sense. The drop cannot fathom the ocean and partisans are happy little drops. Modern day flat-earthers. Their ignorance is a disorder and should be treated as such. Unfortunately many of them are willfully and intentionally ignorant and for that there is no treatment.

These pro-some-liberty Dems cant recall the great Dem push to censor media of the 80's and 90's. PMRC? Video game ratings? They were screaming and whining about angry music and violent games right along with the churchy moral lunatics.

And the pro-some-liberty Repubs with their beloved 2nd Amendment cant seem to recall how Reagan and Bush Sr. screwed them over.

Libertarians know everyone is screwing them over but try as they might nobody will listen.

You seem to have edited your post. The way it first read, you seemed to be calling out Libertarians. My apologies. I will edit my post now. That is why I try not to get emotionally involved in issues here, posts like that happen.

Why do Liberals think Libertarians are conservatives?

Conservatives are pro-statism(somewhat limited statism).
Libertarians are anti-statism.(for the smallest amount of statism achievable)

I just don't understand why the big-state leftists tend to lump conservatives and libertarians together.

Same #, different overtures.

And anyone that expresses a different ideology than conservatism is labeled a commie, socialist, traitor, pinko, jugears, crackhead, bedwetters, tree huggers, bolshie, bleeding hearts, hippy, fudgepackers, spot monkeys, dry wallers, derfeuro, eggplant, fishloaf, greenie, artfag, bograt, aqualib, bingo wings, libtard, longhair, femanazi, nerds, crackbabies, crotch fruit, doober, limpwrist, batty men and a few others that escape me at the moment.

oh yeah....poofder, oxygen thief, pot head, sheeple, retard, plastic rod, puff skrunger, shim queen, stuff wart, turkey sow, and twinkie.

Libertarians being Republicans are for the same reason why Intelligent Designers separate themselves from Creationist.

Its just disguise in the end.

Two points with one sentence. Flame suit up!

My point is, if you ain't "us", you is "them".

And it doesn't matter who "them" is, because it ain't "us".

Your last sentence basically spells out that you are trolling Libertarians here to get them riled up. I already made that mistake earlier in this thread and I won't do the same. If you truly believe that Republicans and Libertarians are one and the same then it certainly makes sense why you fail to see the errors in the Democratic party. Have fun being ignorant of the truth, though I doubt you should be on this website you know denying ignorance and all.

Most people are clueless, I was.

I don't want a title, for one thing I don't fit into any category, my views are different and leanings are different depending on the subject, I believe most are this way, we let them pigeonhole us into groups to divide against one-another.

The reality is we are all going to go down together.

It simple logic.

If you are 90% against Democrats. 90% similar to republicans?

What are you leaning toward?

Just a quick profile view is enough to say what side you lean.

Whatever we may say, the two parties are the dominant forces, until that is dissected, everyone lean to one side more.

Denial is all i see.

It's only simple if your reality is that narrow.

Maybe once all you partisan left/right dinosaurs die off we can get some real change.

Simple logic for a simpleton maybe. Real logic shows that there are more than two choices for any sort of ideology, as many as there are people on the planet. Yes a simple viewing of my post history should show that I align with Libertarian ideals, I'm very vocal about it and probably mention it in my posts at least once a week since people like you like to pigeonhole people like me into certain boxes.
