Glenn Beck shared a story with viewers on Wednesday that he’s been keeping close to the vest since before the 2012 election, explaining that he’s been waiting for the right time to say what exactly happened, and what it means for the country.

It all began, Beck said, in what he believes was late August when he was getting ready to do a number of events with FreedomWorks.

“It’s about 4:00 in the afternoon and I get a call from the president of FreedomWorks, Matt Kibbe, and I can hear the distress in his voice,” Beck said. “[Kibbe said], ‘Glenn, I’ve just been escorted out of my office by armed guards and told not to come back.’”

Kibbe added that he wasn’t the only one forcefully escorted out, and that they had been hijacked, so to speak, by the “old guard” GOP establishment.

“There was a coup during the election, and it was powerful,” Beck said. “They were trying to get rid of the libertarian, Tea Party-minded power players, and first and foremost on that hit list was Matt Kibbe and his allies. They didn’t like the fact that FreedomWorks was cleaning house in the GOP…that they were targeting people like Orrin Hatch. It didn’t sit well with the Karl Roves of the GOP world…”

Iv'e been very hard on GB in the past, but if this is true; he has certainly proven himself as a true journalist, in the finest tradition with this story.

Even though Beck says that he doesn't want to see a third party; is it time for the GOP and DNC to have some viable competition? I think it would be a healthy thing for American politics and perhaps get rid of the cynicism.

Why in the #$% didn't he report that the instant he heard it?

If anything, this further reduces what little confidence I ever had in Glenn Beck.

My basic conclusion with respect to the austerity movement is that it cannot have any organization.

I welcome all vocal proponents of liberty but, I would discourage the attribution of leadership to any particular person, group or party.

If that happened he could've reported it long ago. Ratings ploy?

Perhaps GB is influenced by the GOP more than he is telling us. Could this now be a diversion or a ploy to keep his ratings up?

American politics and the alternative/mainstream media are joined at the hip and it's hard to believe anything or anyone.

It's still the greatest and most entertaining show in town!

Yeah agreed.

From the OP title I was hoping we were going to get GB's inside scoop on his FEMA camps debacle.

What a great bit of journalism.

Since when has Glenn Beck ever been afraid to speak his mind? In short, never.

If this story is indeed true -- not to imply it isn't, mind you -- then it would make no sense whatsoever to hold it on the back burner. Unless, of course, Beck didn't want to rock his GOP conservative boat base.

That said, it was a huge mistake for the Tea Party to align themselves with the GOP. As a result, both factions are taking quite a beating with the government shutdown fiasco.

That said, Beck is always on the lookout for his next publicity ploy. Cloak and dagger within the GOP -- sounds like a ratings winner.

I thought the same thing. But, then I consider the implications for the elections. I would have done the same thing. I think we all knew this was happening and we can plan accordingly in the next election.

I know what you are saying but for this to be released at all is astonishing.

Now we need to hear from the Republicans to either disclaim or elucidate on the story.

I'll bet the DNC is doing a happy dance!

Interesting. This is a conspiracy site so let me conspirorreate. Or conspirorize.

Becks a tool trying to sell a new "reformed" republican party as part of a massive republican "Psyop".

Yea see. Just when I was about to start pulling all 3rd party levers down at the voting station I get sucked back it.

Just when I thought I was out

There is a very real possibility there are plenty of "talking heads" who know full well what is going on, are against it, but are maintaining their current station to continue to gather valuable information rather than blow their wad and be ousted and replaced with somebody fully compliant.

That information is then... when especially potent... passed on to someone that isn't easily connected to the "talking head" while the "talking head" endures being called an idiot, sellout, etc... because there is plenty of security in seeing the positive reactions to your real efforts while enduring the negative reactions to your facade.

The man and the media persona are very well observed. Thus, the model of his behavior and motivation is solid and well defined. From this, we can estimate very accurately his future behavior.

I'm going with ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!

I hear what you are saying, but he had a scoop and dropped the ball in my eyes. Which just demonstrates he is nothing but a political puppet, which we all knew he was, right?

You have to wait on important news until it is good for ratings! Hmmm isn't that sort of the same thing the politician do?

Deciding when and what and where the general public is fed information? WHAT A CROCK!

Because he did not want a third party.

A split between the GOP and the Tea Party at that time would give the House and the Senate as well as the White House to the Democrats. With the GOP dead, Obama in his second term the far left would have four years to push through what ever legislation they wanted.

It was a well thought out move on his part.

Now people are paying attention to politics again. There is no major elections in the immediate future and people will have time to think and make an informed decision on the matter. (We can only hope)

A victim of his own parties Nasty cut throat ways?
So sad.. Freedom Works, Dick Army's brain child and AstroTurf 501c
is a low down, lying, manipulating propaganda machine.

Well at least GB and Freedom Works have that in common.

Mark my words, Glenn B
is gonna loose it some day. Like OJ Simpson did
and John Boehner will soon, but for other reasons. Probably not murder,
but loose it none the less....it's coming .

...I welcome all vocal proponents of liberty...

I have been away from ATS for a long time. Most of that time I have been reading up on economics, World Government and such.

I suggest anyone who wants to know what is actually going on read the following posts I have made. All have links supporting the information I give.

For the Republicans I go after Clinton here but more important I show the reasoning of the Globalists.

For the Democrats I go after Reagan here and how he aided the goals of the Globalists.
