Just saw this on

I guess the rumors were true.

Who will take his place now?

Colin Powel was a well respected individual untill Bush got ahold of him, and he had to keep covering for Rumsfields verbal mistakes (Truths). Im sure that who ever replaces him will be hand picked by Bush. Not a good thing.

The sum total of that article is
"Secretary of State Colin Powell this morning announced his resignation.

The move had been expected after President Bush won re-election
Story Continues Below"
But then it doesn't. Maybe this all just happened right now, but, are there any actual articles on this?

Well, this was inevitable. I wonder who else will be going, to make room for the new Bush administration.

I think Powell remained through the election. I think he (and his wife) long for him to retire from public life and media scrutiny.

This is what erects quandry within ones mind.

I posted this thread at 9:30 this morning. That was before it was even posted on ATSNN.

Therefore, please refrain from flaming me. Let's all discuss this important time in a civilized matter.

What are you trying to win bluemoone? Moderator wannabe award? This happens all the time at ATS, and it seems you were beaten to the punch anyway.

I had a lot of respect for Colin Powell until the lies regarding WMDs etc came about. But then he seemed to oppose some party views afterwards and it showed signs of a man with conscience.
