CBS ran a poll just prior to shut-down showing Tea Party support at it's lowest in history...and that was pre-shut-down...which 80+% of Americans oppose.

Looks like they may have got the results backwards !!!!

It will be VERY dangerous if Obama acted like a Bush.

Aah I miss that commie President Eisenhower .
In those days Dad had one union job that took care of an entire family.
Vacations college for the kids, and even a boat wasn't unheard of.

Why?
Even the most conservative estimates
have the top 1% paying 49% in 1953.
And Corporate taxes were at 50%.
That'll bring revenue.

Maybe it helps to effectively tax big business if your name
is General Dwight D Eisenhower instead of Barrack Hussein Obama?
I mean what else could it possibly be? Hmm....

I was responding to the dude's assertion that only Hitler coerced you into buying products or services.

But by your logic why should Emergency Care be provided for you at no cost prior to services rendered?

I think all you right wingers should tattoo "Do Not Resuscitate" on your foreheads.

You know, to live your principles and what not.

GOP = Grand Obtuse Party.

I am neither right wing or left. I value both equality and freedom.

That's only because they don't allow stupid crazy people to teach.

What would they teach anyway?

The "How to be stupid and crazy in 10 easy steps" course?

The one who generalizes a hundred million people as "stupid crazy people" is the one who has little to "teach" me.

How is sterotyping "intellegent"?

PS see my comment on how it often results in intellectual pride and indoctrination for those who fall for the programming. BTW I have a masters degree.

God Bless,

You know your party has jumped the shark when those you claim to be protecting think you are horrible for the country..

U.S. Chamber of Commerce to oppose Tea Party in GOP Primaries
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Is that so?

And the party who created the federal reserve, social security, medicare, medicaid, foods tamps, free homes, free cell phones, free education, and the care act,

Is good for this country?

That was so damn funny I forgot to laugh.

The largest expansion of power, and government spending have come from the left of this country. and someone has the nerve, the gaul to blame the right, and the tea party?

Really expect me or anyone else to buy in to that stupidity?

Must really have a low opinion of us.

I love how no matter what flying in the fact of the 'great society', since the creation of social engineering this country is more broke, the people more broke, and more dependent of government benevolence than at any other time in our history.

Wonder what this country would look like without the 'lefts' help?

Given the trillions we spent in this country on social engineering this country should have the most rich, successful, intelligent people in the entire world.

We don't.

We are not even close.

But hell demagogue the TPM and the right.

Hell the left is never responsible for anything they ever do.

Always blame someone else for their MASSIVE,EPIC failures, and it is back to the status quo.

More of the same GD, asisne stupidity that put this country is the shape it is in.

Golf clap.

*sigh*

Oh where to begin. . . .

Freedom, self-reliance aren't buzz-words. They aren't catch-phrases. They aren't trendy political snark-words used to piss off the progressives.

To some, they are a way of life.

My second point. I find it somewhat disingenuous to claim that the end of the world is going to happen if the debt ceiling doesn't increase, when (in 2006) then-senator Obama refused to vote for a debt ceiling increase. Did HE want the end of the world to happen?

My third point is this; Obama doesn't want the debt ceiling to increase. Here's why. For the past 5 years, we have been in a recession/depression masked by quantitative easement. With the refusal to increase the debt limit, he and you all as well, can finally come clean, be honest, and state that we aren't in a recovery. That's why Obama refuses to negotiate.
You can finally point to the fuzzy math on unemployment, you can finally address the record numbers on food stamps and disability and subsidized housing.

We can finally debate honestly.

So bring it on!

The Republicans at the time PPACA was passed voted *NO*. All of them.

The Democrats themselves cut out the public option language.
If they had Democrat support for it, it would have been in the bill.
Remember that the Democrat majorities passed the law and zero Republicans voted for PPACA.

All Democrats, Obama, and all the Left Wing NGOs supported PPACA in 2009.

.. They *OWN* it 100%

Yep I can see how stating the truth is 'offensive'.

Although I expect better from someone who continually goes around saying they 'want real conversations'.

And devolve to petty snips such as the above quote.

Thanks just means my work is done here.

You're absolutely right on every point. The T.P./GOP are a danger to themselves and others and they are proving to be a bigger enemy of the U.S. than Al Qaeda itself. They are pathetic, just pathetic.

Extremism both left and right are tearing this country apart yet you cling to the idea that the tea party types have any of the answers, they do not.

Hmmm.

Who says the Tea Party is *extremist* ?

I bet all that malarkey comes from ....... the Left Wing dis-info committee !!

And that post offends my God Given Freedom which our Forefathers fought and died for!!! It is an affront to my constitutional rights!

Let's just pretend that empty rhetoric has substance!

Losing respect for my pal Beez...and may God strike me down, my direct ancestors are scrawled on monuments as having given their lives in the revolutionary war. I am more patriotic and love this country more than you can fathom, which makes bumper sticker speak and flag-pins all the more offensive to me. I don't abase words like "freedom" for exploitative, empty rhetoric to sell a fraudulent ideology. I have family past and recent that have died for what you use as a punch-line.

It's not up to him? If he negotiates...we can abolish all branches of government and declare ourselves a dictatorship. The ACA was passed by both houses, upheld by the SCOTUS and signed by the Pres. and affirmed through two Presidential elections. Capitulation is not an option...not for those that genuinely believe in democracy.

That is just sad.

The church of holy dogma strikes again.

'The tp/gop are a danger to themselves and others proving to be a bigger enemy of the US than AQ'.

When do the drone strikes come?

Of course I don't see the tp/gop straping bomb vests on, and flying planes in to buildings.

Nor do I see them beheading people, or stoning people.

What is pathetic is comparing the right to AQ.

In the spirit off compromise, agree to fund Obamacare and instead eliminate the IRS. That way Obama wins, but those that do not wish to participate cannot be forced to do so.

Added bonus of every working American would get a de facto raise of 23% or more. That money would in turn stimulate the economy and create jobs.

Not paying attention to SS,Medicare,Medicaid ?

Thank Bush for that mess. He started a unpaid prescription plan and decided to fund two wars with the SS trust fund.

The exponentially increases to government spending where we can not pay our bills right now, compound that stupidity with the care act?

We already spend as much on public healthcare as what the ACA will cost.

What makes people think government can run their healthcare better than what it is now?

It could hardly do worst.

Oh and single payer is nothing but a pretext to their healthcare should be free. That is the only thing it is about. Nothing more.

You mean like every other civilized country in the world? The for profit healthcare system is a failure.

Sorry the 'blame bush card' is not accepted at this establishment.

And sorry Bush didn't create Social Security,Medicare,Medicaid which account for the largest government spending and has for decades long before he was ever elected.

Nice Epic failure there.

We already spend as much on public healthcare as what the ACA will cost.

When there are already 100 million on government ran health insurance medicare, and medicaid, and 30 million new people are added.

Sorry WE are going to be spending considerably more that is going to increase both the deficts, and debt.

But really who the hell cares right?

Keep selling the ACA as the greatest things since microwavable mac and cheese. Sure there are some out there stupid enough to believe that rubbish.

It could hardly do worst.

Want to bet?

Forget the current national debt of 17 trillion dollars, and everything the government touches it destroys?

Forget the best insurance in this country next to congressman is the private healthcare?

Guess that really doesn't matter.

YAY GOVERNMENT!

They really 'care'.

You mean like every other civilized country in the world? The for profit healthcare system is a failure.

Yeah free healthcare and other free stuff is what it truly means to be 'civilized' !

I forgot.

What a effing joke the lengths some people will go to DEFENDING government fascism and stupidity.

Funny. My family is new to America, I guess we don't take freedom and personal liberties for granted like you "natives". (lolz)

We can all wish for something different, but reality is going to confirm some suspicions, and is going to punch others right in the face.

Good luck with your version of America.

Mine is something definitely different.

US Adults Are Dumber Than Average Humans

The above link explains how Obama was elected - TWICE. And summarizes how and why this president still has supporters!

It is a well known fact that Democrat voters are much more educated than Republican voters.

Be careful with your accusations...you may just be incriminating yourself.

It's a well known fact that this is a partisan insult and I direct you to this thread to peruse the T&C.
##Members Please Read##: Ending the Political Trolling

I find this quote, by Alien Science and supported by others, to be particularly condescending,

........I don't think facts can be a partisan attack...they are just facts........

**Disclaimer** I only read as far as the middle of page 2. Could not get by the drivel and party line nonsense. No allusion to subsequent posters is intended.

Facts, indeed.

What recognized authority, and I mean universally recognized and respected sources have come forward with these facts. I have yet to see any one on EITHER side of this dust up to really put up facts that meet that criterion. This is a political, impassioned slugfest that is quite ridiculous and seriously unproductive.

I have personally known college professors who were geniuses in their field and could not tie their own shoes without help. I have known town drunks who could quote Keats, just don't ask them to spell it. The generalizations being tossed about here are NOT getting us anywhere. Each and every one of us is different and will respond each to his/her own strengths. Intelligence can not be measured by a test on paper, or information from a book or a teacher. Nor can its measure be considered based solely on experiential learning. To attempt to quantify the human potential based solely on either is at best stupid, at worst downright criminal. And the irony of it is that it is irrelevant.

I do not agree totally with all of the TP positions as I do not agree with the GOP or the DEMS totally.

I am one of the veterans sent to fight in Vietnam, at age 19, based on a lie. A lie told poker faced on National TV by that asshat, LBJ. I am one of those who has watched other asshats lie and send young Americans to die far from home. I am not a paragon of virtue or a pillar of the community but I do not send people to die based on lies.

I was also a Police Officer in my youth and, again, never Officer of the Year but respected and trusted enough to protect President Carter during his visit to our state. I have NEVER barred elderly, honorable Americans from a place of honor which was paid for by private money, and their blood. I have NEVER removed an American family from their home at gunpoint and then search their home without a warrant. I have NEVER held elderly tourists, American and foreign guests, in a hotel and escorted them, at IMPLIED gunpoint, to their bus and then forbade them to stop until off Park Property.

As to the ACA. That monster will kill thousands and bankrupt hundreds of thousands if the current refusal to delay it for a while continues. I have yet to hear anything positive about it beyond the VERY amateurish plug with happy people holding loving signs up. Are you freakin' serious to extol the superior intellect of liberals with that obvious hack job. Please, I already have a headache.

The TP may be "twisting political arms", but they are NOT sticking guns in our faces.

Break out the silver bullets, there be Werewolves about.

Yeah free healthcare and other free stuff is what it truly means to be 'civilized' !

"stuff"?? No...Healthcare? Yes. Why? Because it has no place in the free-market. Disease isn't a product. Cancer doesn't discriminate between the hard-working and lazy, you can't work your way out of cancer. Kids get cancer...and it doesn't care if that kid's dad is rich or poor.

Healthcare demand is FIXED and INDISCRIMINATE. That means when you need a triple bypass...you get one, you don't wait for a price drop. When you get run over by a car, you go to the hospital.

This means that in the American Economy health care providers and insurers have an ENDLESS and FIXED Demand for their products. There isn't price elasticity. Disease is not a purchasing choice, it constitutes a FIXED, Unwavering Demand...regardless of anyone's earnings or productivity. It's not like buying a new car or an Game Console. Cancer is not a choice.

That is the Opposite of the free market.

See...you can work hard and earn more money and buy a house...You can not work hard and immunize yourself against getting cancer, or other diseases. Disease doesn't respond to market forces. Never has.

Healthcare has no place in the free market.

ACA was an improvement...But Healthcare needs to be socialized, like the other 90% percent of free democracies.

Just sick when ideologues compare someone that is struggling to treat their dying family member with someone that is looking for "free stuff".

I will be so glad when the Tea Party finally implodes....which looks like a matter of days now.
