An asteroid travelling at more than 114,000 mph - or 51 km/s - has been captured slamming into the American countryside by Nasa's all-sky camera in Hiram, Ohio.
Take a look at the video below - but don't be worried. Nasa says that while its Asteroid Watch has been shut down in the wake of the US government crisis, there are still many people watching the skies... for deadly asteroids we can't do anything about.
No. It's talking about the meteor on September 27th.
is this the second event strike Ohio?
back there there is a meteorite fall to earth and burn a house kill 2 elderly couple..Scary time, when Nasa go Off, so Space fence.

Article was posted July 10!
It would be really helpful to me and most likely others to have the date of the incident in the thread title. I know if you click on it you can see the tiny date but it's much easier to read.

Nuclear bombs.
www.youtube.com...
Anyone notice how the Huffington "article" changed "crashing into Earth's atmosphere" into "crashing into the countryside?"

Cheesy you are a total meteor groupie, i love it.... i don't know how i survived before you showed up and started creating several threads per week regarding meteors
huff post do tend to be rather sensationalist at times but there info is usually spot on.....
i agree with the other person, you should totally create a meteor watch thread so i can add it to my favorites and find all the info in 1 place..
keep up the awesome work my friend, you are my only early warning system for the impending doom from above
