If being "homosexual" is something you can medically test for, doesn't it stand to reason it might be something you can medically cure or screen for. I always wondered about that.t hey screen for Down syndrome and I always worried that people might start aborting gay children.

Well, I had planned on going to St. Petersburg, Russia a few years ago. Part of getting a travel visa to visit Russia includes showing proof you aren't HIV positive or have AIDS.

Yup, you can't get into Russia legally if you have AIDS.

I did end up going to Moldova during the Bird Flu scare, and they had thermal cameras at customs looking for people with a fever. I never saw that in Western Europe or America.

When I was over in Saudi I actually knew a guy who was an escort for one of the Princes. He was not gay but due to his looks (looked like a Greek statue) one of the Saudi Princes took him on many international trips. He liked a British girl who was working for Saudia Airlines as a flight attendant she was a friend of mine. He would leave for a few days and come back with a bag of Riyals usually 35,000.

Once Willy (the girl) found out what he was doing she dropped him like a hot iron. Many are the biggest hypocrites as far as telling others how to live their lives..... they are above all the serfs...smarter, richer, better educated, and therefore must believe all the rules are for the ignorant masses; like many in leadership positions the world over... I could write much more to include a westerm 7 year old boy being raped .... they used to say almost all rapes were of boys... So good if they develop a way of testing, however, instead of testing at the border maybe they should start at the top and work their way down.

There might be those who think what I have posted is being anti-gay... sorry if you get that impression; I am anti-hypocrite and against the rape of anyone.

Like others have said if a valid test could be done then the "choice or genetic" would be put to rest in the west.

In many parts of Asia it is not even a question for they know it is genetic and even have letters in their alphabet showing male, female, and gay not in a derogatory way either; just part of the alphabet and life.. period end of story and has been that way for 1000s of years.

What are they going to do about the thousands already in country? This is beyond hypocritical.

I don't know about Kuwait... but from the OP link?

Five countries mete out the death penalty to gay people – Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen and Mauritania.

It would seem when Iran made the statement a few years ago that they didn't have gay people in their country.....they meant it. Just don't ask them how that came about happening, by reading that. That is a brutal way of being a bigot, if I do say so myself.

I think this won't last long. They won't want the numbers to go public about how many Kuwaiti men are actually gay.

They walk around in the malls holding hands, wearing pink shirts, and I used to know this FLAMING gay guy who said he loved it there because he could get a new man every night so easily.

I know they say it's their culture to hold hands, but you can look at some of these men and tell that the culture is an excuse to do what they really desire.

This is nuts. I feel as if the world is becoming increasingly divided...

As for the mechanics of a "gay test," I think it would be possible to monitor things like heart rate, respiration, and pupil response while administering a battery of images--both opposite and same sex.

So the Arab states have created a "Gay detector" ???

Reminds me of Giaus Baltar's famous Cylon detector from Battlestar Galactica.

I immediately thought of this from an American Dad episode. Poor quality, but hilariously stupid.

(can't embed YouTube videos on mobile...so take a link.)

I know they all have laws. I also know they have homosexuality. It is against the law on penalty of death for a woman to commit adultery, and yet lovers still manage. Laws have never prevented sex, imho

Adultery is also one where people really die for it, regularly, too. You say it, it seems, with a casual air like they have the laws but can't really be serious. Umm.. They're deadly serious and yeah, Iran probably did REALLY MEAN IT when they said they are without gays. I believe Iran is.....publicly or where they ever dare show themselves....free of gays. They really do kill people for these things in other places.

Saudi princess given asylum in UK over fears she faces execution for having illegitimate child with British lover

It's a real attention grabber to see just HOW serious they are on some things and how freely the death penalty is handed out and rather quickly carried out in other nations. No 20 years of appeals, playing games off death row in Saudi Arabia, for instance. It's verdict to chopper in a pretty quick trip, I think.

That's less graphic than most of what's on TV but shows better than a text quote...this really is happening, regularly. It's evil, in my view ..but I'm American and not of their world or culture, too.

I do not mean to sound frivolous. My point is that laws do not stop people from having sex with who they want to. It is ludicrous to legislate morality. It is not going to change anything to make sex illegal, people are going to have it. Even if it means death, people will have sex.

Edited to add. Homosexuals have been hiding in plain sight since time began. I don't think it can be tested for, or that you can prevent it from entering your country.

Ask INS how easy it is to keep out people you don't want in your country.
edit on 8-10-2013 by Iamschist because: (no reason given)

Oh I agree this testing nonsense is just that. Testing for homosexuality? As if there is some blood marker. sheesh..

It never ceases to amaze me just how very different the world is though. Something that is considered a part of a person's nature and accepted, if not embraced by all over here ...is something they just hang you for or decapitate for in other nations. It's ...just amazing. Not necessarily in any positive way. It just is what it is, I guess and I'll never pretend to be able to wrap my Western mind around some of the other cultures we share this rock with.

In terms of the INS? I'm sure they'd have much much better luck with border control if they could also use military gunships for air patrol, fire on what they find and/or pursue border crossers with regular troops looking to shoot what they find. I imagine it would be a night/day difference to see the tools and approaches of other nations on illegal immigration used on our border.

I'm thankful we don't do such things to such barbaric (to my thinking) extremes, of course. At least, not yet.

What happens if they detect the fabulousness of Obama and his entourage? You reckon they will be denied entry?

Besides, a number of these gulf states have embraced pedophilia for the locals and visitors. Maybe they should clean their own house before worrying about others?
