Anyone who's seen a French farmers strike knows full well what can happen if they really want to make this happen. It's has to be complete clogging of all roads and railways. It has to be total. The French know very well how to do this. You might want to invite some of them over to help out. They are experts at shutting things down. I never thought I'd see this day, but here we are. It has to be thousands of trucks, and it has to be complete blockage of all roads. It's even better if it's all the delivery trucks. Because if they seize the trucks (as the pathetic folks in DC are likely to do) they will also be eliminating their supply chain. This is a cascading effect for them.

I am a driver in the Denver area. I have heard talk on the CB of a few drivers heading to DC for this protest and I truly feel that their attempt to get their voices heard will fall upon deaf ears. If I am wrong then so be it...I would be happy for some positive change in the peoples favor. The main issue I see is this, our HR manager stated, "if you would like to go to Washington and join in, that's totally fine. You may not however, drive your company tractor. If you are under a load and shut down for a strike, it will be seen as abandonment of company property and you will be terminated." The last thing a driver wants on their DAC report is an abandonment...you are better off with a hot UA. I can guarantee a large percentage of trucking companies have relayed a similar message to their drivers. That pretty much leaves the owner operators to go and hit the loop and unfortunately, thanks to the big companies undercutting freight costs, owner ops are few and far between.
An example of this. I was an owner op for a while. I ran a dedicated route from Laredo, Tx to Chicago, Il for $3.25/mile. Contract came up and the winning bid was $1.75/mile. Impossible for me to hang with. That is one of the points I hear these drivers want to bring up in Washington...why do the fat cats get fatter and we have to starve and be their "slaves"?

We are also tired of the rules and regulations being slapped on us. They change every year it seems like. Someone who has never sat in a truck is telling us how and when we can drive. Stupidity in my opinion. Oh how I miss America.
First post on here. Sorry if its irrelevant to discussion.
Surfin this site for a while and this was my first post so I thank you all for your time.

Maybe they will be labeled as domestic terrorists... however, when I think of what could happen, maybe just because im optimistic, I just see the scene from V for Vendetta in my head then the cops shoot that little girl in the mask and its like the straw the broke the camels back for the public, and the revolution begins because of it. Lets hope tomorrow goes a little something like that lol

Worst bit of totally manufactured outrage from the Neo-cons since they found Palin for VP. Epic fail, thank the gods we didn't have idiots like this during the Revolution trying to run things.

Thanks for sharing some news on that. So it sounds like big corporations side with government if they tell you it's abandonment if you go there for the weekend. What a mess. This movement was banned from twitter so I had to resort to facebook and from what I'm seeing people are really supportive in the towns these guys are going through. Donating gas money and providing directions of where to go to fill up, people honking and painting support messages on their cars. I'm sure it's nice to feel supported and I'm sure they understand the plight of those like you. Maybe they are hoping this will be enough.

Well, it seems that the Great Trucker Protest turned out to be the great trucker let-down.

I truly expected this and it won't sit well with those participated.

Obama Admin Replaces Barricades At WWII Memorial Today

Round 2 is in the making.

Is It Time for a Revolution?

Larry Klayman, the outspoken founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, has announced a plan to go to Washington, D.C., on November 19 and escort President Obama from office. He’s hoping that the disgruntled right, we of the long complaints, will join him and answer the question “you and what army?” Read more at patriotupdate.com...

Nothing will happen, Klayman is just another birther who lost a court case against Obama.

You may well be right that nothing will become of this. Sounds like a kamikaze approach and I have to wonder how many people are ready to get their heads bashed at this point in time.

Well, I give him credit for trying to do something while the rest of us sit on our apathy waiting for marital law or telling ourselves it never will happen.
