My “snipes”, are more based on (tic) humor (and cryptic communication) than trying to be abusive. Though I do return abuse politely, but am never the aggressor.

I have beliefs and can appreciate enthusiasm but don’t trust dogma and linear thinking

How many jobs rely on tax payers funding perpetual war?

That's how many jobs need to be eliminated.

1. You editorialized a title without indicating you'd added to the title.

2. Thankfully, your addition was patently absurd enough that folks with information, brains, understanding, perceptiveness, maturity could see through your scam without too much thought.

3. You violated the T&C by not including your commentary with your quotes.

4. Evidently some hereon don't give a rodent's rear what the rules are as long as they can do whatever they jolly well wish . . . typical of . . . many of a certain political party.

5. If you REALLY believe that the GOP and DEMS are NOT 2 sides of a horrifically destructive coin on the road to tyrannical global !CONTROL! . . . perhaps you'd do well to read more substantive source materials.

Here's a good start:

Globalism, in and of itself, is not only inevitable but good and necessary.

Just as the end of tribalism and beginning of nationalism was not only inevitable but good and necessary.

Only people who are scared and afraid of the prospect are people who fear the new, the foreign and loathe change.

These people, such as yourself, have always existed.

Doesn't mean we should heed them.

Also, socialism is not evil.

It's actually all that actually works about so-called capitalism and what keeps society functioning.

All insurance is socialism.

All banking is socialism.

It's just that they're done provided for private profit when there's no good reason why they should.

Public infrastructure is socialism also.

Non-profit police, fire departments, courts etc. are socialism as well.

Emergency medical care is socialism likewise.

And so on and so forth.

Lockheed Martin and United Technologies to lay off thousands in GOP Tea party Shutdown

1 - It's not a GOP Tea Party Shutdown .. no matter how many times you repeat that rhetoric.

2 - BOEING, Lockheed and UTC are all FURLOUGHING thousands. Not laying off.
I know because we just got hit yesterday. No more work and no more income until the
gov't shutdown, THAT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OBAMA, comes to an end.

No matter how loud and as many times you say it doesn’t and won’t ever make it the truth.

People with reasonable and open minds know the truth

GOP Tea party are in-human and they are directly and indirectly responsible for the shutdown from any and all perspectives

Even Jesse Ventura concedes this

My husband is a contractor and this sounds like propaganda, the reason is that contracting workers are on salaries so even if its a just down they will get pay regardless because the contracts are already awarded and can not be broken without making a bid deal in courts.

Now they can send their salary workers home but they will still be pay.

Unless they have programs in which they pay by hourly bases then those can be lay off. but not those under contract.

Now I read Flyers post and I guess I am been mistaken it seems that they can do that after all, I mean let got of contracting employees

Sorry to hear about the let go Flyers, our government sucks and doesn't give a crap about the workers they are using them as a bargaining tool.

A lot of contractors are actually hourly, you can go to wdol.gov to check out pay (which hasn't increased here since 2008).

Lockheed and many contractors are hiring. LM is hiring here, I was surprised too.

I guess I have been mistaken sorry for that, my husband is a contractors on salary and for now his job at the local base is safe even when most civil workers are gone for now, but military personnel are still representing the government.

We have salaried too, but most are hourly. If there is overtime the hourly can make more than the salaried, but they work a lot for it.

This is the contract for contract field team, I stand corrected, oddly enough they got a pay increase, some got increased .09 cents per hour. Mechanics got more maybe 2 dollars, I'd have to check

That's the first good news I've heard as a result of the shut down. I'm very surprised that war profiteers would be getting hurt by this but I'm not going to complain.

Cuervo-
The war profiteer won't be hurt by this, they are being paid for the contract, Lockheed always knows how to get their money. It's the people working for the contract (some veterans) will be hurt once again. Pay for people who work on contracts (in most places) hasn't gone up since 2008.

Lockheed has contracts here and they are hiring.

Don't you understand that military contract workers are also part of war profiteering? They may be on the bottom of the ladder but they still get paid because we kill people and start petty conflicts. They are part of the problem.

I wish them the best and hope they find work in a more ethically-sound industry.

Thanks for that link, Merlynn, is a bit of good news too,

There was, however, relief Saturday for thousands of furloughed Pentagon workers and the promise of back pay for all federal workers who have been forced off the job.

The Pentagon on Saturday ordered at least 90 percent of its roughly 350,000 furloughed civilian employees back to work, significantly reducing the number of sidelined federal workers. In all, about 800,000 federal workers had been furloughed.

Defense Department said the recall is based on a law passed by Congress this week that allows the Pentagon to end furloughs for "employees whose responsibilities contribute to the morale, well-being, capabilities and readiness of service members." Republicans had complained that the administration was slow to bring back those workers in light of the law.

www.mediacomtoday.com...

90% is great news, hopefully this will be all employees and not just nick picking.
