Did you read any of the comments below the article. My-oh-my.

Here comes the change ... anyone have any of that 'hope' left?

I don't know about you folks, but I see a four-day work week in everyone's future. Can you deal with a 20% pay reduction and meet your financial obligations?

This thing is going to boil down to a difference in who gets a salary (fixed monthly income) and who gets an hourly wage.

Hey Beezzer welcome back. Yes a controlled burn is pretty much it. Raise the debt ceiling, keep the gov shutdown and leave it in place forever. Then we get all the elves, hobbits, dwarves and humans to march on Mordor... er on DC and finish off the out of control spending beast.

ETA - Ughh. My take on this is that many think this is just theater. Maybe so IDK. My concern is if these fools play politics until the last second they may accidentally get to a spot where they miss the chance to raise the debt ceiling and default us by incompetence.
