Certainly not poor now, but we make just enough to pay all the NECESSARY bills (mortgage, internet, phone, television, electric bill, etc) that every American family should have, and have food on the table. Could I cut out the television, yeah but I have the basic channels not even any premium channels. Even if we got rid of the TV which is $60 per month it's not going to make up the $600 a month we will now have to pay for something we don't need.

What Obama wants me to do is sell the house I lived in for 10 years and buy a run down shack, just to afford his mandated healthcare. Or live without electricity. (It doesn't help that the electric company I have charges $400 a month for our home which is why they are nicknamed National Greed, and if I moved 10 miles away and had a different electric company such as NYSEG or Solvay Electric I would be paying about $90 a month for the same home in electric bills. But that's another story I suppose.)

Ahh, the American dream is now apparently to live healthy but not have much of a life at all. All part of the plan I suppose.

But I like it 100% better than what we had and it is a huge step forward in this nations healthcare industry.

And, let me guess that you will like it 100% bettter when it is single payer,
as was the goal all along according to Harry and his ilk.

The transition to socialism is not a given.

We don't qualify, for any government programs. My husband makes too much. We also take pride in the fact that we take care of ourselves. We live within our means and the solution that we have chosen is to continue to provide more on our own. We only use the healthcare system for the occasional chiropractor visit and emergencies. Otherwise we drink a lot of herbal teas and I collect, grow and preserve a good portion of our own food to help make up the difference. The last thing I will do is jump on a government program bandwagon. We do what we need as a family to stay as self sufficient as possible.

The point is that this has already affected many middle class families for the worse. We should not be forced to purchase ANYTHING that we don't need. We have chosen to carry the insurance for emergency purposes, but at this point, almost $ 10,000 would go a very long way to cover a broken leg.

This Obamacare pony will be ridden right into the police state they are creating with all the anti constitutional laws since Oklahoma City.....
If the American people cannot rise up against this tyrany
soon...the republic and their freedom, will be lost along with their now lost wealth.....

Maybe I should rephrase my statement. People need to be governed because they are unintelligent, and no matter how much "educated" they get...it doesn't change their intelligence.

Umm..yes...unfortunately it does. Because the majority of people are kind of stupid and they need to be governed.

This is the reason we have any laws at all...this one is no different.

...actually most of the US' original laws were designed to protect people trying to pass insulting, meddlesome, and assbrained laws down the road from recieving devestating bodily harm from the general population.

And maybe that worked in the beginning, but times change. It's easy to have few laws when the population is small and undeveloped, but with growth comes more laws.

This is a natural process, without it growth never happens.

Yes, you are 100% correct. Single payer is the system I hope comes out of this in the end...and I do believe it was the plan all along.

You see, intelligent people see that Single Payer is the only option for developed countries. Most western countries have already moved to that system. But us Americans, collectively, are morons...so we have to go through an extremely painful process before we get to the solution because we have fear mongers and naïve people that fear change.

Cancer is also a natural process involving growth... The shutdown and (I hope) continued refusal to raise the debt ceiling will act as a scalpel, cutting out as much of this malignancy as possible before it metastasizes into the few remaining un-diseased portions of the country's fabric.

You're right...and that hadn't immediately occurred to me. Obama's administration did tie Passports and exit from this nation to tax payment earlier on, didn't they?

Ever get the feeling this whole set of actions in different areas has been a hell of a lot more coordinated than it's appeared at the time?

One can only imagine what the IRS will do to anyone that is not designated as "Democratic base"....my guess is that anyone who is not will be on the "A" list and the first to receive there socialist wrath.

They have already proven there ability to destroy anyone who is not part of the ...agenda.

I knew it and have stated as much in a previous post. If we are fortunate enough to be buying a house, they will attach liens to the property then our income. We will be driving illegally and they will add fines and interest to our taxes owed. We'll be broker than ever, homeless and owe our soul's to the IRS. We are ALL so screwed.
