As a conservative I can see some of what the OP is saying is the truth. There are racists who hate Obama because he's black, but they'd also still hate his policies if they were Clintons or Bidens. The trouble is the OP has used too wide of a brush. There are non racists who don't like Obamas policies and they are in much greater numbers on the conservative side than the racists.

It is absolutely possible for a white person to believe a black person is doing a terrible job without them being racist at all.

I like the idea of healthcare reform to help the poor. I didn't vote for Obama and don't believe he's been a good president, but when I first heard about the reform I was impressed. The trouble is that the devil was in the details. Obamacare contains too many things that will damage the system and punish good people in the long run. You have to study how the systems work and UNDERSTAND them to be aware of why things will damage them. The soundbytes from the Left are useless. And Obama lied to us on numerous points.

The president lies and the people are supposed to get mad. This doesn't make them klansmen.

"the ACA has been law for 3 years, there is nothing to negotiate, it is not a pending bill, or current legislation that needs to be discussed."

If what you say is correct and once a law is passed it is no longer able to be debated or negotiated then why after 40 years do we still debate the topic of abortion?

Roe v Wade was passed 1973 and yet the supreme court has heard at least 5 cases seeking to either expand the law or restrict it in some way.

When it comes to anything other than inalienable rights, the law is malleable in a democracy.

The ACA will be no different, it will be challenged many times in the future.

Actually, Obamacare was written by insurance companies for insurance companies. Insurance companies will screw over black and brown people just as fast as they will white people. They will screw over poor people faster because they can't afford lawyers.

The primary color in Obamacare is green.

Very Socialist err. Marxist?.. err.. Git er Dun!

Yup. this country is a Corporatocracy with Fascistic tendencies..

I don’t know how old you are therefore how much you know about this countries race centered attitudes. It is clear you are naïve on racial issues though you may have good intentions.

Although this reply wasn't to me, I'd like to add my two cents.

I just turned 61 the first of this month. When Malcolm X was assassinated, I was aware enough of where things stood in this country to know that he'd been taken away just as he was poised to do great things for race relations. He was a brilliant speaker and one of those rare few who would rather be hated for speaking the truth than gain notoriety and power by pandering. His death saddened me deeply.

Like so many others, I cried when we lost Dr. King. It was a sad, dark time.

When I was in junior high, blacks were still being lynched. If we want to talk about racism, bear in mind that I've seen first hand what you've just read about.

We just disagree. I've been watching the thread and just wanted clarify where I stand. The fact that we don't agree doesn't automatically mean there's any animosity. You've said nothing disrespectful or "snarky" to me and, hopefully, you didn't take that away from anything I've posted.

Hanging the term "racism" on any of my attitudes is almost as likely as ever getting me to wear a bow-tie. Ain't gonna happen.

How the South Blocked Health Care for Those Who Need It Most

Thanks to Republican legislators in old Confederate states, universal health-care won’t be so universal. Jamelle Bouie on how poor blacks got shut out.

By the time it was fully formed, the Confederacy had eleven member states: Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and the territory that is now Oklahoma.

This, with the exception of Arkansas, is also a partial list of those states that have rejected the Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act. As the New York Times points out in today’s must-read story, the direct result of this is to block millions of Americans from access to health insurance. And while Southern states don’t comprise the majority of those that aren’t expanding Medicaid, the majority of people who will suffer are poor, black, and in their borders. These are some of the most vulnerable people in the country—with terrible outcomes on most measures of well-being—and Obamacare won’t help them.

Reality speaks for itself!
This head in the sand rhetoric on many of the posts here is all delusion and wishful thinking by those who don’t know the truth

I don’t believe and have not said all conservatives are racists.

Your suggestion is illogical simply because if I thought ALL GOP conservatives were racists I would believe that many blacks are racists since there are many black conservatives.

Skunk works?

Troll post?

Cant take much heat when its thrown at you huh? I guess ATS nanny'd all the republicans to a point where there got used to seeing Anti-Democrat/Obama post. It is a shocker when they get criticized, but most of the time they dont because like someone ls mentioned there is like 6-7 liberals posters compared to 20-30 hardcore republican posters?

lol OP i really wonder how many "ALERTS" went to mods for your opinion. Not many people post Anti-republican stuff on ATS, its always the opposite.. since you are treading on their turf.. its boils them cause they are not used to it!

Hopefully u wont get banned, but they will sure try regardless!!!

Good luck!

What heat? The heat that the Democrats' only argument for any topic is "all Republicans are racist"? The only reason someone would oppose Obamacare is because the President is black and they are racist? The only reason anyone could possibly disagree with any of his policies is due to racism? Yes, I find that completely absurd.

They know its not true....but then they are liars and scared. They are even saying now the whole 2nd amendment protection effort is race based and has it roots in places other than the american revolution.

This is where they want to direct our attention to TP tax and spend reform effort.....away from it true roots in the american revolution period to another time and place.

Worst thing that can happen for the detractors is that whites of any sort and political affiliation would go into politics without race guilt. Without respect for the lucrative social programs which will certainly suffer under any sort of normal fiscal accounting.
