Never let it be said that Americans don't have a keen grasp on current events and political issues. Nothing gets by most of us and that's doubly true when it impacts our pocketbooks.

What’s the difference between Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act?

[Jimmy] Kimmel trolled the streets of Los Angeles on Monday to ask people to choose which health plan they preferred: Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act. These are, of course, the exact same thing. But that didn’t stop people in L.A. from pontificating on the various pros and cons of “two” policies that are the SAME THING.

This would almost be amusing if it wasn't so sad.

One guy called Obamacare “un-American,” but the Affordable Care Act is “more American.” Another thinks that Obamacare is “socialist,” but the Affordable Care Act is not. Read more: dailycaller.com...

Republican propaganda, it sure does work on the weak minded.

They have affected so bad, anything with Obama is considered bad. Well i guess their goal is completed, the goal to tarnish him from day 1 in office.

Lol, yeah I read this article— What's in a name? Lots when it comes to Obamacare/ACA—last week about a similar thing: there was a national poll about who approved/disapproved of Obamacare vs. ACA. Needless to say, more people were opposed to OC than ACA. *eyeroll*

In CNBC's third-quarter All-America Economic Survey, we asked half of the 812 poll respondents if they support Obamacare and the other half if they support the Affordable Care Act.

First thing: 30 percent of the public don't know what ACA is, vs. only 12 percent when we asked about Obamacare. More on that later.

Now for the difference: 29 percent of the public supports Obamacare compared with 22 percent who support ACA. Forty-six percent oppose Obamacare and 37 percent oppose ACA. So putting Obama in the name raises the positives and the negatives. Gender and partisanship are responsible for the differences. Men, independents and Republicans are more negative on Obamacare than ACA. Young people, Democrats, nonwhites and women are more positive on Obamacare.

People are idiots, but we already knew that.

People are idiots...isn't that the truth? The last video we all watched for the Geography 101 course last semester was Man on the street interviews the instructor jokingly said she'd hunt us down if she ever saw any of us appear on, looking that hopelessly stupid.

The best example they used over and over was a map mis-labeled to show Australia as North Korea and Tasmania as South Korea for opinions of the (at that time) topic of the day with building confrontation between them. I know they were selective about showing just the ones who accepted the map and even pointed around it for emphasis in some cases...but so many?

(facepalm) Oh...the shame... It was laughing embarrassment for the class. A person can be intelligent. 'People' are blithering idiots on balance.

We had great maps for our geography classes. And it fit right in with current events.

The White House is doing a fast paced triple step dance, to get Obamacare as a name, out of the public's mind, and changed to the Affordable Care Act. They know it's a debacle and the POTUS doesn't want his name attached to it. Plain and simple....

Very similar results to the poll on whether 4th term abortions should be legalized.

lol.... That's like Bill Clinton trying to remove Lewinsky from connection in the public mind. You may very well be right about his thinking....and we're sooo far beyond where that was possible? Well, he's learning all kinds of new things as President lately, isn't he?

'twasn't that way a year ago... I suppose they should have thought of it then.

“I like it,” Obama replied with a smile. The moment underscored Obama’s strategy of trying to turn the term to his advantage. While opponents of the 2010 health-care law coined the phrase "Obamacare" to suggest that Obama was socializing health-care, the president now repeatedly uses the term in campaign speeches, adding, “I don’t mind it being called Obamacare because, it’s true, I do care.” (Source)

I personally have always detested the term and vowed in the 2010 and 2012 elections that anyone using the word "Obamacare" in their ads would not get my vote -- not because I supported the Act, but because I thought it was an unnecessarily divisive term.

Has anyone but myself noticed when our commander in chief stutters when he lies????

I thought I was the only one until I did a google search.

Did you all forget his mission before election was to shut down Guantanamo Bay?

And yet, he makes a point to take credit for Military actions he was not a part of?

I live in an "oil rich" state... My state is over run with criminals and drug abusers who tell us to just "Deal with it" because that is how life is now... Just because that how life is where they came from.

when I spoke my mind to the ignorant people in my life about voting for the wrong party... I was told to move to Canada if I didn't agree! ??? Why would I move to a country I did not agree with and was Cleary broken?

When I attempted to explain to them how they were telling me to move to a country they would never live in themselves...they just got all huffy and mad! And of course stuttered profusely when I asked them to clarify their reasons.

Here's another one that shows just how stupid people are when it comes to Obama. No wonder he won twice.

As long as you add in Obama's name you can get his people to support communism and Karl Marx even.
