Shut the Government Down...Do us all a Favor.

I am very sorry for the people (non-thieves) that are punished by a shutdown.

After Newt shut down the Government it ushered in unprecedented growth.

It is time for the Tea Party to stand by their principles and fight.

I am not a member of either party. Some of you might see it different.

Can anyone make a valid argument to keep this Government open?

The way I see it is if they are not in session they are not stealing from us.

They are only making plans to steal from us...

Thoughts?

The only good argument I can think of is how all those being shut down will get back pay anyway...and the ones we most want to see shut down? They're "critical" ...so they won't be hurt.

No one we want to see get clobbered here, will... Hows that for a reason?

In order to heal we have to let it die first. Then the mourning can begin.

Yeah itll be rough for awhile but its better than this corpse we have now that seems to keep kicking and screaming.

Not going to get any better unless we get it over with.

The bummer is that after past shutdowns, all the government workers who sat at home during the shutdown got paid back pay, so the country didn't actually save any money having the government shut down. I have no reason to believe that this time will be any different.

You know, if my internet service just went out, say for 3 or 4 weeks, and after it came back on and I got the bill for the normal amount, there's no way in hell I'd pay it all.

Seems fair to me that the g'ment shouldn't be allowed to collect taxes while shutdown, especially since BOTH SIDES knew this was coming since the very moment they last kicked this can down the road.

If EITHER SIDE had really cared about averting this situation, they would have stepped up weeks or months ago and done something about it then rather than wait until it became prime time drama!

Essentials are all we need as far as a federal govt. Id love to show em that the states wouldnt implode the moment theyre weaned from the cornucopia-of-crack--like Federal government golden teat.

It's to bad that congress doesn't get shut down (at least in pay) as well.

But that would be a full shutdown. This is just going to shut down non-essential programs. Its not going to be as bad as most people think. The sky is not falling!

The governments shutting down only puts more money in rich people's pockets.

Like any of this is coincidental.

The GOP and the Democrats are not actually fighting over bloody Obamacare. The economy is due for a crash, and this is just the dog and pony show to keep us all busy.

You wanna make the rich suffer? Than demand they re-instate the middle class. The only circumstance in which wealth comes to the middle class is when people are actually given the wages they deserve. Coincidentally, from the wealthy.

Now we are in a circumstance where the wealthy have been way too greedy. Even people who think having rich people is good are like "wtf, woah bro the ceiling is going to give out."

So, don't let them empoverish you further by allowing them to shut down the government, and subsequently trigger a bunch of consequences that effect all of you.

Let's get it over with for Christ's sake! It's going to happen soon anyways and the only reasons we have this political satire anyways is because they know their charade is over! It isn't the Republicans fault and it isn't solely the Democrats fault! It is all of the Americans whom have supported this fake two party systems fault!!!!

You are right. Gov't shutdowns cost the taxpayers a lot of money, in fact. It takes money and resources to shut it down and to start it back up.

And don't worry about the economy....it will be crashing soon. The stock market is ripe for a pillagin'.
