All this time I thought the head/face of the statue was built in stone...now that I have seen this picture it proves otherwise:

Is there a film anywhere which would show the time-lapse of the building of the statue? This has got me interested in learning the history behind it! Thanks!

Nope, haven't seen a film on its construction. Kind of funny though but I was looking at old Statue of Liberty pictures with my daughter the other day as she didn't know it was made of copper. I realized that her facial features were kind of manly looking lol and joked that it figures the French would make the Statue of Liberty a man in drag.

Your picture made me realize that she looks a lot like Michelangelo's David in the face: static.guim.co.uk...

So she must be David's very buff twin sister.
