That fence and the field looks like the opening in the movie the Wizard of Oz. Great pics though.

Woah, easy there with the Hammer!

Really awesome, in the true sense of the word.

You captured some amazing shots, there - hard to say which is my favorite! I like the color of the light in the foreground juxtaposed against the boiling grey of the clouds. The top photo wins imo for composition, but the lightning in a few of the others is just stunning, too!

Thank you so much for sharing these!

In 9 there was a cloaked UFO I had to hit if you look closely!

Thanks!

Fantastic pics of the awesome power of nature! Many, many thanks for sharing these.

PS: I liked 1 & 5 the best. No. 5 looks like two creepy hands reaching out. Brrr...

Thanks for sharing these.
I vote for the first because as the opening, it had a strong effect on me. A great picture.
Also the last because of the special lightning. I wondered too what that white globe there could be. You did get a special something there for sure.

Wow awesome!

I love lightening. We have had some nice lightening storms at night here lately. I open all the blinds and sliding door and watch it. It's great!

How do you take such great pics? Mine never look like that. I just have a regular camera. Do I need something fancy?

It is a long exposure and a bit of luck1

Your camera must have a setting for either night or for manual exposure. You need a steady surface or tripod you cannot take these by hand held, you will end up with a lot of blurred images if you do. I have a camera with a manual exposure and i take LOTS of shots back to back unless there is a lot of lightning.

And you have a pretty decent camera and lens as well. (I read the Exif data.
)

But yeah, you did some pretty long exposures there. Did you get any issues with wind causing some slight camera shake, or was it not gusty enough to matter?

Thank you! I actually was out taking evening photos before the storm manifested. I will post some more night shots maybe later.

Wow stunning pictures , both the lighting and the lightening look dramatic and give an ethereal feel to what looks like a cool storm .
