Just wondering how one is qualified to get that on this forum?

I see there is a lack of experts on medical thing on ATS especially on vaccines etc.

Im not a MD but have worked for a number of years in the Biotech Industry, mainly on production and development diagnostics but also in vaccines to as well has a lot of experience in Microbiology labs and in world of Pharmaceuticals.

So willing to have my CV etc vetted by ATS staff if needed,

Just might be good to have a balance to the OMGZ vaccines and pharma companysare there to kill us all crowd!

Ugh. My last thread in physics went AWOL because an "expert" on physics decided that the people shouldn't voice their opinion, only mathematician experts.

But your intentions were great, though, so I'm flagging you.

Ugh. I didn't either... Until now.

No freedom of speech, no "layman" opinion allowed, all that in the name of "science". It's as if they don't want the people to discuss about what "they" (the PhDs) know.

Not all scientists are like that. But quite a few are.

Sounds silly.

Everyone has the righst to voice a opinion even if it is wrong

There used to be two ways to do it. You could either show credentials to the staff that showed your experience/expertise in the forum in question. Or you could do well thought out, well written posts, that showed that you know what you're talking about, and that you're level headed, and not given to flights of fancy, and posting anything that crossed your desk without verifying it first.

The key though is that you have to be able to walk the walk, and talk the talk.

100% agree. This was my last thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

An "expert" decided to barge in around page 2, and you can read by yourself his attitude about science and freedom of expression.

Zaph where did your identifier go?

Did it get phased out during the transition to the new design?

You have an identifier? What is it?

Prior to the update experts had a tag over their avatar "SUBJECT MATER EXPERT" or something. Now i think it s a tiny little dot that links some threads.

It's still there, it's just harder to see. It's right under the avatar, in the ejection handle stripes. It's just "*fsme" now, instead of the bordered tag that it used to be.

An FSME has a tag in their avatar that if you click on it it takes you to the forum that they're considered experts in.

Yea i just noticed it. I like the linking function, but I liked the other format better. That way it's somewhat obvious.

I suggest we hunger strike to get them back, and by we, I mean you

So you are in planes after all.

That's actually really cool.

Yeah, the other one was a better looking tag, because it made it easier to identify the FSME.

And since you said "we", I think I'll let you sit in for me.

It took me a long time to get the tag too. You have to work if you want it, and be able to prove you aren't just parroting things.

I do miss the flightline though. I'd love to be able to get a job back as a ramp rat.

Well the credentials wont be a issue.

Its if Im considerd to hot headed thats the problem

But something like that Im not going to take lightly.

Thanks for clearing it up anyway.

I think I will have to keep under the radar of one particalr mod for awhile first.
Just wouldnt mind confirmation from the staff I am who I am and not some internet BS'er when it comes to my little area as I have nothing to hide.

I only dreamed of flying. I guess I'm lucky I never did. Otherwise I'd be longing to go back in the sky again and again.

Oh it's so worth it though. I flew both powered and unpowered. I soloed in sail planes, and was heading towards solo in powered when money became an issue. I worked on them a lot longer than I flew them though. Good times.
