Some of the numbers in this thread have been wildly exaggerated. ROLLEYES.

I've never exaggerated anything where I live those are the prices.

Health care without insurance is extremely costly. Most people couldn't pay the whole bill with their income.

For reals right?

Everytime I use my insurance, I get the costs sheet thingie later on in the mail. What the hospitals charge for the smallest thing is mind bottling.

Eyedrops - 65 bucks for the OTC stuff.
Tetanus shot - 160.
4 Hydrocodone - 25 a piece.

The other week, the wife had something on her eyeball. Took the doctor 5 minutes total (from asking questions to scraping it off) - over 400 bucks.

An amber-lance would have been crazy high. Don't they charge by the mile AND time? THEN they charge the paramedic's fee's plus whatever they used to splint the arm?

That dumb mother needs to thank the school. We all know that if the school called 911 and the mother got stuck with the fee, the headline would have read:

School Called 911 for a Broken Arm! Mother Stuck with 20K Bill.
