Sublime - Santeria ... he says it. Lyrics

My soul will have to, wait till I get back, find a Heina of my own.
Daddy's gonna love one and all.
I feel the break, feel the break, feel the break and I gotta live it up.
Oh, yeah, uh huh.
Well I swear that I.

Maybe he thinks he isn't living up to his potential?

Albert Hammond Jr - Holiday ... he says "I got the brakes" Lyrics

Wake up, months of change have #ed me up

I got the brakes
I got the brakes

Your laughter takes me from disaster to tears
Are washed away, on holiday

Maybe something happened in his life that 'stopped him in his tracks'? Baby?

I did research. Nothin. Anyone have any idea?

I think that it has to do with surfing they are from southern California...the break of the wave.
Or he feels when he steps to insanity and feels himself breaking...
and brake when he stops the change?

I figured he meant it as he feels his heart breaking. Knowing he will not have a heina of his own. Therefore . . . love it up!

Oooooh, didn't think about that. Bradley did surf. That makes sense.

As soon as I read that I knew you were talking about Brad. I don't know what it means, he's a worthless dead junkie so it probably means nothing?

Well, here is another one for you, from a metalhead's perspective:

Dry Kill Logic - Feel the Break

"But I feel my sanity drain and
I feel the break I
Can feel the break I
I can feel the break
And I know what's to follow..."

Just a 'break' with sanity/reality as far as this song is concerned anyway. At least that's my talk. Not too sure if that's what Brad was getting at.

When surfing, "feeling the break" is knowing when to engage the wave and not get killed in the process. Too soon and you get plowed, too late and it leaves you behind. Knowing when to go or not is all about learning to "feel the break".

When it goes well you are pushed along just ahead of the break, ain't nothing like it.

you bugger.

I can feel the break
And I know what's to follow
Never before was the truth
hard to follow
In your own self-doubt you will wallow
Now it's my time
You remember I will always
See you for the liar I know you ARE!
Even when I try
I cannot seem to find
One good reason why
I should believe your lies and
I feel the break I
Can feel the break I
Can feel the break and I know what's to follow
Never before was the truth hard to swallow
In your own self-doubt you will wallow
Now I don't have the time

I was going to post that. Snap. Beaten to it, and from an obscure band .. at least for me, down here.

Good choice in music there bud!

Lol, thanks for the sarcasm.

Ok, so " i feel the break" is a surfing term. Far out.

or it could also just refer to feeling the break in routine coming along, usually in a negative context, like having a break down after prolonged heavy stress. or it's a surfing term.

either one involves a lot of liquid. the latter being aqua green, the former being amber...

To add, it could also be a break from a way of life or thinking, a change of viewpoint, an epiphany.

Koyaanisquatsi--

"A way of life that calls for another way of living."

Sarcasm? No Brad is a dead old junkie revered by only young pot heads. "feel the break" is not a term it's lyrics from dead dope head.

Many great artists and people fell victim to substances. It is unfortunate but its life...Hell, go listen to some Barry Manelow or something.......that boot might fit you better.

As for the op, ive always wondered what he ment by that, I hear alot of phrases in songs that I wonder about, but they are quickly forgotten. This was one.

Don't get me wrong the best artists of all time were drugged out of their minds. It's just that Brad is so over rated.I just get sick of kids talking about sublime like they had talent. They wrote fun songs but couldn't play their way out of a wet paper bag. And no thanks I'm more of a metal head.
