He's still making some decent points after all these Christmas and pig hunting stories. I think he's talked more tonight to the American people than Obama has his entire presidency. And, made more sense.

Hes just saying his father had it rough. Heck I pumped gas for below minimum wage as my first job. Literally. They took out taxes but never reported it because they paid me under minimum wage at the time. So I never got anything paid towards my social security. I was young and had no idea so I just went a long with it. I also washed dishes at another job. About 350 every two weeks and that was another job they lied took out taxes and didn't pay it towards social security. They got caught and shutdown for it though.

So I don't see any of it as points I just see it as a story of how his ancestors had it rough. I've got plenty its the way the world works. Speaking of which I never applied for any welfare during my first two jobs. I would have qualified and should have, I payed taxes. However I am sure I would immediately have lost my job due to those companies being in serious trouble for fraud.

Wow, this guy makes a lot of sense. I haven't been a fan of ted cruz, but tonight it seems he is speaking from the heart. Then again, he is a politician, and after this last election I am hard pressed to trust any one of them.

Senate procedure limits how long he may speak before the initial vote to invoke cloture on Wednesday.
This isn't a filibuster. It's a dog and pony show. Nothing more. It's a stunt.
Just like everything that ridiculous party tries to do and fails at.

Ted Cruz isn't filibustering anything. He's just talking for a long time. If this was an actual filibuster no one else would be allowed to talk.

My cat Sable was enjoying watching Rubio speak. Had to be the moving of his arms. Then again she likes watching cat videos on YouTube.

Unfortunately, I don't think this will have much impact on the vote at 1pm today. So the House will be force to amend what the Senate sends back after amending until the bill either expires or one side has to vote down the bill...or the government hits the shutdown time limit.

Just a waste of time and diversion. Mr Cruz does not have to go bed tonight chewing his nails about a job, paying the bills. Talk about "insecurity", the american worker faces all the "insecurities" every day. For the Love of God, get our country moving toward prosperity again, get these wars behind us and stop looking back.

I was actually pretty disappointed in myself when I passed out last night about midnite watching this man who doesn't know me, who isn't my senator hell who isn't even from my state still standing and voicing my sentiments while I and my wife slept soundly in our beds while our future hung in the balance.

God bless you senator Cruz. Thank you for doing for all of us what we cannot do for ourselves. Thank you for making DC listen.

And let me just say - I had a smile as big as Texas when I saw him still standing the next morning as I sipped my coffee well rested from a good nights sleep.

what a bunch BS this turns out too be,,, he already knew he wont be able to stop the vote because of the house rules before he even started talking ,,,just bunch of propaganda for the run up for the next Potus election,, claiming hispanics come here cause they dont like the big governments in their country so they flee here ,, too the biggest government ever,,,lol....claiming those other countries won't allow big OiL/energy & "security" to "trade" .. so they flee here...

You do understand that when Harry Reid says "We intend for it to "lead" to single payer insurance", then he intends for it to lead to single payer insurance. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to imagine this trainwreck in practice collapsing on itself leaving us with "single payer" Socialized medicine. The old adage you cant make an omelette without first breaking some eggs.

Ahh this Ted Cruz... man of many stupid ideals and quotes... well like this one:

Listen, It's obvious at ths point hat neither Dems or Reps actually care about this country. All they care about is their politics. They don't want this to succeed because it would actually be very bad for the Republicans especially after all of the demonizing they have done through the whole damn process.

If the two sides would have been able to work together for a change, perhaps we would have had something better.

People won't see the larger issue. Sure, ObamaCare is far from perfect. But the fact is our healthcare system is collapsing at an accelerating rate. Hospitals are closing, practitioners are leaving their practices. So many people are going to the hospital for routine care and not able to pay that the hospitals are finding themselves underwater. People aren't getting basic maintenance care so minor health issues are becoming serious and more expensive. We are rapidly approaching a time when only people who can afford to pay will have access to heathcare. Right now, if your child gets sick in the middle of the night you know you can go to the local ER and get him/her treated even if you know you can't pay. What happens when your local ER is 75mi away? Or when hospitals simply refuse to treat if you don't have a proven ability to pay? Don't think that's a possibility? Just wait. It's alarmingly close.

I don't care. I hope the old system dies a painful death. We paid our insurance premiums for 32 years through employer. Then my husband got an acute onset of a disease at 55, just before retirement. Because he could not work for 6 months, they kicked us off. That would have been ok, except now we had pre-existing conditions and trying to find coverage from the FEW choices offered. I am angry and I would be glad to see single payer and get greedy private companies out of my health.
