Something's got to give , this is so grave if true. More and more people are now learning about the real history of the American Government and the wave of feeling is almost palatable.

It seems more like they are self-destructing and its the alternative media that has the eyes and ears to hear and see the building collapsing ..... excuse the pun.

BAM Alqeada see the word and make the connection!

This is ages old stuff here. Look at the way the Romans got mixed up with the Germanic tribes only to have them become their worst nightmare later. Look at the international investment helped Germany get back on its feet after WWI only to have to go to war with them later, all the aid we dumped into the Soviet Union during WWII only to have them turn on us.

Organizations like Al-Qaida do the same thing. They muster support from foreign powers but keep their own aspirations in mind. No one is guiltless here. We did not create Al-Qaida strictly speaking. At some point when the relationship becomes uncomfortable or doesn't line up with the original aims of one party or another fighting between the two becomes inevitable.

Take Vietnam. First they took weapons from the Japanese to help them fight the French but always knowing they would have to toss out the Japanese. Then they took aid from the Chines to fight the Americans only to have to fight the Chines after the Americans had left.

Humans do this every day in the microcosm of their personal livers. The shifting sands of politics and affections, the drifting of personal alliances, the shifting fortunes of friends and lovers with benefits. Its all very Machiavellian.

Its just the ages old position fluctuations. One day their fighting beside you, but always with different goals, the next day their not.

The problem is not that Al-Qaeda was created under CIA supervision during Reagan administration, the problem is that Clintons failed to control it. Al-Qaeda's mission was accomplished when Russians withdrew from Afghanistan, their usefulness for us had expired, so it should have being dismantled or kept as a pet scare-crow. Unfortunately Clintons were too preoccupied with idiotic liberal ideas to pay attention to growing potential threats. Same thing is happening now with that imbecile in White House.

They say one thing, act as a triumph of human kindness, but then when they become president, the dirty ugly head of political corruption shows itself, and none of the promises transpire, all we get is filth, lies, until we're left with just another corrupt monster wallowing in their own self righteousness.

So pressTV, the propaganda mouth piece of the Iranian government who quite openly despise America say that America created Al-Qa'ida so it must be true.

You know as someone who has spent a lot of time studying the history of Al-Qa'ida and Islamic terrorism in general i always find this claim utterly perplexing. It seems to stem form a grossly ignorant understanding of history that has morphed into some kind of urban myth and is now just accepted by many (not just conspiracy theorists) as a hard fact. Its not a fact, if you think that the US government created Al-Qa'ida and is still to this day some how "managing" Al-Qa'ida then your understanding of this chapter in history is lacking. That's the problem, if you believe that the CIA created Al-Qa'ida then by default you must then also accept a totally alternative history of Islamic terrorism and the wider history of the Middle East. It is revisionist history at its worst, rewriting the history books with this nonsense is robbing future generations of the truth in the name of some paranoid conspiracy agenda.

It implies then that it must have been the US Government who were the ones who created Wahhabism and that they were the ones who actually wrote Qutb's Milestones and thus created Jahiliyyah and that it was actually the CIA who created all of the other radical Islamic preachers who have all contributed in some way to the ideology that is Al-Qa'ida.

And that, a Ideology, is what Al-Qa'ida is now, it has been ever since the attacks of 9/11, Bin Laden was not just the head of a terrorist network he was the head of a new radical ideology that has been created over hundreds of years. The Egyptian Islamic Jihad did not swear the Bay'ah to the CIA but to Bin Laden and his Al-Qa'da network (Ideology) and many groups have followed in EIJ's footsteps swearing a oath of allegiance to the Ideology of Al-Qa'ida now its became 10 times bigger than it was on 9/11. But so many people simply can't or dont want to grasp this concept of Al-Qa'ida as a ideology, groups like Al-Nusra in Syria are simply a Al-Qa'ida franchise group, who subscribe to the ideology.

Its a fundamental ignorance of history that leads people to have this absurd believe that the CIA created Al-Qa'ida, I cannot explain this to anyone in one thread,post or even a book it actually takes time to go away and truly study the phenomenon of violent Islamic extremism. So I am not out to try to change anyone mind, if you all want to get over excited about Robin Cook saying something or Clinton almost saying something to enforce your already scrambled understanding of something as complex as Al-Qa'ida go for it. If on the other hand you want to actually know the truth (which is much more interesting) then stop reading "pressTV" and ATS for your history lesson on Al-Qa'ida and actually start picking up some good history books.

I don't fail to understand that Liberty, i myself am now at a certain age and have voted many a time to now understand my errors of ways.

What i do not get is that many people here on ATS are all too happy to slam down the president that they voted in for internal and external affairs, when at the beginning and knowing very well that that president would turn all Jekyll and Hyde so to speak, they could have easily voted neutral "so to speak" (can you do this in the US as we can in France?)
