Thirteen Muslims arrested in the Netherlands have ties to a radical Islamic group according to Dutch authorities. The groups called the "Hofstad Netwerk” is tied to a Syrian spiritual leader named Redouan al-Issar. Al-lassar has disappeared according to authorities. The crackdown on extremists came following the murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh. The killing sparked a wave of violence against Muslim site including a Mosque that was burned down.

The issue of sleeper cells is a very troubling one. This one seems to have been more open yet operated under the radar until the killing focused more attention on it. Given the non homogenous society we have here in the U.S. one has to wonder how many of the cells exist here. I have to think that they would have struck by now, but you never know. How do we root out these groups without destroying civil liberties.

I would imagine it is almost impossible. These "jihadi's" don't walk around with armbands on, and they are not in the Western tradition of "political" movements etc. in other words they are not discernible from the rest of the Muslim population. The muslim communities living in Western nations really need to take action, they are the ones who are being preached "jihad" to, they hear and see them at their pray services etc. they need show some loyalty to their new societies, and help get rid of these extremists. Because if they do not, it will be their new found civil liberties that will disappear first
