Hey, nothing has changed. In the past it was stuff like The Beatles that they used to sell to the kids. Remember all the screaming kids who did not
even really know why they were screaming, but just did it because the media told them that is how they had to react.
Tech is the latest emphasis that is all. Yes, that is where people's heads are at. Yes, it is not very pleasant to witness these rather fickle traits
in the human species, but really it is still business as usual.
Young people are easier to manipulate I guess; they are not as cynical. So they get manipulated.
These are just the richer kids of society, remember! Most kids can not do this in the world. It is a minority.
Also, it is possible to have a healthy personal relationship with tech. It is up to us how we police ourselves. I decided I did not want to be one of
those people who are sucked in by media influences to the point where it dictated my behaviour on a sub conscious level. That is really what is
happening with these fickle fads. Next year this model will be old sad news and they'll be lots more latest fashion gimmicks because there is always
money to be had if a corporation has "the name".
I expect these kids are the haves and they leave the have nots wishing they had. I do not need so therefor I do not want.
Yes, a lot of people at times can be empty vessels weaving the wind generated by a huge corporation who make an awful lot of dollar out of consumer
But not me
