All right, I happen to be at my dad's house who is a prominent physician in internal medicine. I'll mention it to him later, although I don't want to use him - I wish I could help you myself.

Very sorry to hear about your son, I know how frustrating it can be to have tried everything and still have no answers.

One thing that can't hurt is nutrition (meaning a special therapeutic or diagnostic diet). There is something called the GAPS diet that claims to be a cure-all for everything from crohn's to autism. It isn't easy but, it sounds like you are willing to try anything.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I am NOT an MD but

When I taught at Baylor I had a student with similar symptoms

She went to good Dr's for quite awhile who found nothing.

Her other professors would not believe she was physically ill, but because of the md reports thought she was only psychologically ill and would not allow her to withdraw from her classes past the official withdrawal time.

The next semester she came back to see me and said she was finally diagnosed with Lupus and was grateful that I never said it was psychological. How could I with the awful symptoms she had.

Have you explored the possiblity that your son has Lyme Disease? Lyme is becoming a widespread Epidemic. More and more people are becoming ill with Lyme, and most doctors will not even think to test for it, blaming symptoms on many other conditions. Is it possible your son was exposed to an infected tick at some point prior to leaving for Florida? See the symptoms below:

Early signs and symptoms
These signs and symptoms may occur within a month after you've been infected:
Rash. A small, red bump may appear at the site of the tick bite. This small bump is normal after a tick bite and doesn't indicate Lyme disease. However, over the next few days, the redness may expand forming a rash in a bull's-eye pattern, with a red outer ring surrounding a clear area. The rash, called erythema migrans, is one of the hallmarks of Lyme disease. Some people develop this rash at more than one place on their bodies.
Flu-like symptoms. Fever, chills, fatigue, body aches and a headache may accompany the rash.

Later signs and symptoms
In some people, the rash may spread to other parts of the body and, several weeks to months after you've been infected, you may experience:
Joint pain. You may develop bouts of severe joint pain and swelling. Your knees are especially likely to be affected, but the pain can shift from one joint to another.
Neurological problems. Weeks, months or even years after you were infected, you may experience inflammation of the membranes surrounding your brain (meningitis), temporary paralysis of one side of your face (Bell's palsy), numbness or weakness in your limbs, and impaired muscle movement.

Less common signs and symptoms
Several weeks after infection, some people develop:
Heart problems, such as an irregular heartbeat. Heart problems rarely last more than a few days or weeks.
Eye inflammation.
Liver inflammation (hepatitis).
Severe fatigue.

We don't. We pay GOOD MONEY to insurance companies, for DOCTORS to NOT look after us.
Doctors here are COWARDS, because of LAWYERS.

The UK has socialist medicine. The US does not.

ANY hospital will treat/see him. The ER can only stabilize / refer for further evaluation. I am sure they told him to see a primary care doctor for further evaluation.

Most doctors will work out payment plans with uninsured. So honestly, there is no reason he is not being seen/ treated in the US.

I get he is sick. Right now the most important thing is to get him treated. Worry about the bills later.
If it were my child, I dont care what my financial situation was, she would be treated. The bills will come, and in the US you can make payments of $10 a month to a hospital and work it out with them.

Maybe this can help..even if he has to drive a bit to get there...

Hi,
Check out the Liposomal Vitamin C protocol...it's something to consider after you get things sorted out a bit with your son....it's a fairly long but hugely informative and inspiring thread here on ATS....

It is even working for me....

You can apply for things like medicaid but you will just get denied 90% of the time. I was on medicaid while I was pregnant but before I couldn't get on it to save my life. I only got medicaid because I was pregnant. I wasn't on my husbands insurance until after my son was born due to my husband being overseas. I have regular insurance thru my husband now but even then the co pays are ridiculous. Pretty bad when you pay $380 a month for insurance and still can't afford to even friggin use it!

Our country doesn't care about it's own people. It would rather help every one else just to make themselves look good. It's sad really.

Go, see your son. Clap your hands together. Warm them with your friction and intent. Place your hands down on him. He is not sick, you can see this now. Ask him to look upon the world, do this for me?

WORST ADVICE EVER.

do not listen to this, follow all medical tests through as best you can

Yes..Im sorry, Ive really been busy and havent gotten back to everyone. We have filed for the medicaid and are waiting to hear back..in the mean time, my father suggested we retain a lawyer for disability, they take cases with no money and only get paid once you win.

He has an appt. on Oct 3rd with a neurologist and we havent gotten the blood test results back yet.

I forgot to mention, the doctor he saw last week put him on Elavil (Amitriptyline), and it at least helps him sleep, as he hasnt been able to. Im really not happy about that, as it seems doctors just want to drug you up, but he was so full of anxiety and depression and not able to sleep. It's understandable, waking up to a body that doesnt function all of a sudden.

In the mean time, Im trying to pump as much nutrition into him as possible, he's unable to eat big meals, so we try to get him to eat small ones throughout the day.

Im going to look into what some of you have suggested, the Lyme and the parasites..I will mention them to the doctor when we see them again. Im really afraid to try anything aggressive on him at home, since he's in such a weakened state.

I really want to thank all of you again for caring enough to post. Just knowing Im not alone really makes me feel better. I appreciate all your prayers and energies coming our way. Bless you all!

Friend: There is no one here to help you. You are wasting valuable time when you should be seeking treatment, and not talking to an Internet Conspiracy Forum.

Money, circumstances etc...shouldnt matter at this point.
What wouldnt any of us do or go thru for the sake of our kids? Even if they are 22? There are places for those with nothing. That is why they are there, you know?

I am an EMT and in ADLS Advanced Disaster Life Support, and am certainly not qualified to give medical advice. But, I have seen many, many terminally-without hope patients saved from a myriad of conditions. You need to exhaust all avenues for him. Im not saying youre not trying....but you need to not delay. He sounds like treatment is way past due.

Ill say this though...there is almost nothing that cant be identified thru diagnostics. Some are hard, some take awhile...but time is of the essence.

I could sense the dismay in your posting. I do wish you and him well, and . Do what you can, call for help in the medical fields, and if you need some shoulders...we at ATS have got you covered for that. But, do not dally, do not delay in getting medical help professionally.

This is not the place for that....but we are here to listen. My prayers go out for him, and please let us know along the way....

Blessings MS

PS. Please make sure you take care of yourself too. You wont be any good to help him if you dont. Its very important that you do.

PPS. Shakes made with Ensure in a blender/w Chocolate Ice cream and whole milk. Worked well for my brother with colon cancer. Try!

I just want to say thank you for letting me vent here. I know that sometimes, we just need to talk, and ATS has always felt like family.

Just to let you know..we have a diagnosis for my son, and it is, Multiple Sclerosis. I was beyond devastated when the doc told us today.

My son is actually doing better than me..he feels a massive weight lifted off his shoulders, he's surprisingly chipper and very upbeat! He said that it feels very good to know he wasnt going crazy and that all these symptoms were real.

We have a very long road ahead of us and in a way, it has changed all of us over night..but really not in a bad way. I dont know, sometimes things like this happen to wake us up to how sadly we were living, if you know what I mean.

Anyway..I will post once in awhile to let you all know what is going on..we are working on getting into a support group, and there is loads of medical work that has to be done..meds, physical therapy, etc..also many diet changes for him.

I know MS is a life long disease..but it can be managed..

Thank you all, again. Peace!

I think you have the wrong idea. Of course you "SHOULD" play dr! We have as much knowledge today as any dr and more at our fingertips.

I'd be careful with ensure and multimines. They're all crap. They'll do more harm than good in most cases. I wouldn't take any of that.

What you should do is contact this DR:

Dr. Cass Ingram
He wrote a book called: "The cure is in the forest" (amount many others)

===================================================

Also contact Mike Adams at: www.naturalnews.com...
===================================================

I guess that's the challenge is trying to figure out what is the issue that's happening. I'd stay away from conventional medicine. They don't cure anything. They're meant for trauma care only. They're not out to cure anyone. All they do is prescribe drugs that are useless, do useless procedures, and operations. I'm not saying its "all bad" but it's all about making money at the expense of the patients wallet and health. We're completely brainwashed into believing that a dr is there to cure you. He's not. You're body cures itself in most cases using it's immune system.

but i was listening and have been following that Dr. Cass Ingram and he's cured many patients of a lot of deceases that we're normally told are incurable. And I believe it too.

Prior to about 1920 the medical industry was all plant based. And there was a lot of medicine that was actually designed to cure you. But then the chemical industry took over created big pharma and now you get crap that doesn't do anything but make you worse. It's all about making money off people. Has little to nothing to do anymore with curing anything or anyone.

But fortunately there are still people like Dr. Cass Ingram. Also pray. Things will turn around for you two don't worry.

You are on the same wave length as me..i DO believe that all cures are here on our earth..plants were put here for our benefit..and the diseases we have today are man made. Thank you for the video..I know I will be fervently seeking the natural way for my son..although the docs will still fill him full of steroids...(its what he wants to try first)...i pray everyday, btw..whatever energy our universe has..i want it to know that i send all my energy to my son..

Did he experience any weird bug bites he can recall .
GB is a distinct possibility ,but he should be checked for lyme disease and bartonella .
These three go together in a way .
If he's this sick already ,he needs nutritional support and things like acupuncture
See a naturopath
Conventional medicine cannot do much past the antibiotics ,and then tell you its all in your head if you still feel bad .
Don't let them fluff you off. Seek alternative care if you get no satisfaction from regular doctors .
