no one but the ss is to have weapons.I can hardly reconize our country anymore.I truly believe we have been over run in our offices of high position.and our country is being stolen from us by crinimals.

My post title quoted the title from the source- standard practice on ATS.

I thougt you had to quote a NEWS source verbatim, so as to not sensationalise the news report, and not quote an already sensationalised non-news propaganda piece in any manner what so ever.

I could be wrong, it might have changed. But this was set up to grab the hyuk hyuks and certainly not a news report.

I don't know any of the parties involved with this event, nor do I have anything to do with the videos/articles/etc...I saw this on The Daily Paul (hence the title), I thought it was interesting and shared it.

If it is their right to own and bear a gun, why would somebody want to call the cops because of that?

This is exactly whats wrong and something the cop says sums it up completely.

When asked "Have i done anything wrong?" The cop says "I don't know, that's what im trying to find out".

Person carrys a gun, shows ID, has a permit (if required) and on your way. period. done.

You dont start sniffing around every possible law that may have been broken.

totally crazy.

Live in an area with open carrys are legal. Someone see a gun and call the cops because, presumably they fear the people could either not have a permit or be a felon and thus not allowed to carry a gun - which (one would assume) would mean that there is something suspicious about the group, to make the call. The cop- turning up seeing they are normal people, perfectly within the bounds of law with IDs, the cop should have been gone in just a few minutes.

They were being idiots....purposely set out to cause a reaction just for the sake of a youtube vid...Maybe those cops could have been saving a life elsewhere while these clowns were testing the Reaction of the local LE. ....Braindead the lot of them.

Completely missing the point.

The cop was doing his job turning up but then takes all kinds measures (and time) to clear these passive, quiet unsuspecting group of people.

I think the point of this should be that phoning the cops in the first place was stupid.

Look at them, do YOU REALLY think that a group like that poses a threat and also bare in mind this is an open carry state!!!!!

If i lived in a logging town, would i call the police every time i saw a man with a chain saw?! Use your own heads people.

You're missing the point..The Guy with the phone admitted what they were up too...All should have been charged with wasting Police time.
And another point, does Having an open carry permit make you the the greatest shot ever when under fire...I doubt very much those girls could pull those weapons from their holsters in a real stressful situation without blowing their own toes off...It's not Grand theft auto, it's real life.

"This is real life" Yes, it is.

And real life says its their constitutional right to carry firearms, regardless of your speculation that they cannot fire them properly (which is horrendously sexist by the way).

The video is worth making because it shows that no matter how benign you look, if someone gets spooked for the smallest reason, the law abiding citizen will be escorted out of any venue and spoken to harshly, with no actual suspicion of any crime other then possibly not having a permit (which would be pretty damned idiotic to open carry in the first place, right?)

If people are going to get spooked by open carrys then change the law! Bbecause, (like you suggest) you cant have your cops going around checking paper work 24/7 when theres real crimes going on.

I agree- this whole thing never should have happened- it was a total waste of time, energy, and tax payer money.

these young adults did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG- rationally, morally/ethically, or even legally (legally-which is completely arbitrary and has little, if anything to do with reason or morality)

the cops handled their interaction with these women relatively reasonably- which i appreciate and want to acknowledge- although I shouldn't have to -
but the real issue at hand, is that the cops shouldn't have been there at all.

And just to be clear-
NONE OF THESE YOUNG WOMEN WERE BRANDISHING THEIR GUNS, NOR WERE THEY APPROACHED/ASKED TO LEAVE BY WALMART EMPLOYEES/MANAGEMENT.

Well here's the problem with Open Carry Laws..say YOU were in Walmart and you saw a bunch of Arab looking guys walk in with weapons....would you..
A...just go about your day.
B...call the cops.
C..GTF out of there.
D..Ask them if they had a Open Carry permit.
E..something else.

Only in America can somebody walking around a supermarket with a loaded gun, be considered not only normal, but actually something to celebrate as a victory.
And still, the bodies pile up, the shooting just added to the list of other statistics.

Whoever posted that picture of Charlton Heston clutching his rifle with the words "From our cold, dead BRAINS" was absolutely right.
Every time lots of people get shot, people come out and buy more guns and defend guns and cheer and praise the fact that everyone has guns. If that isn't the very definition of insanity, then I don't know what is.

Just go about my day.

If there was something i found out of place about them that made me suspicious (like pointing at people and chattering in another language) i would simply leave and tell an employee on the way out what i had seen and that it was the reason why i was leaving.

For the record i have been in a fast food place when a tall man with a huge shiny revolver on his waist holster came into the shop, i thought "wow, that's a nice piece" and then I got my soda *slurp*

So you would report the Asian Guys to an employee, but would stop short of calling the cops...Are you hoping someone else would do the job for you..... US citizen of ethnic origin are entitle to the same constitutional rights as The white Guy..But hey...lets gloss over that fact.
