Reports are now coming out that there were possibly three shooters at the DC Navy Yard shooting this morning. One is confirmed dead and two other suspects are being sought by DC Police, one male white and other male black, and both possibly wearing military fatigues.

There are now seven confirmed dead and several injuries in the shooting.

At least 7 dead in Navy yard attack

With three shooters this would make this more than just a work place shooting, and the more that comes out right now, it seems this was more than a random attack. One could assume that with three shooters there should have been more than only 12 people shot.

I watched two witnesses interviewed said they were making their way out of a back door with a group and they saw a shooter down the hall, far enough away that they couldn’t describe him (except that he was a tall black man), but were able to see him raise his rifle in their direction and pull the trigger. The woman witness said that his shots went above their heads into the wall, and they then ran out the door.

This makes me wonder if the shooter actually intended to kill them or just scare them out of the building. I’m just throwing my own ideas out there, much too early in the investigations to know anything at all, but it seems to me that this was a coordinated attack and maybe they had specific targets or types of targets. We don’t actually know who the victims are yet, but only 12 people shot, two of which were officers seems like a rather low number for three shooters. We’ve seen some really high numbers in some of these rampages.

The witnesses are describing what sounded like several series’ of three shots, which may or may not be bursts of three shots from M-16’s, rather than AR-15. If this is true, then they could have fired off a lot more rounds than the usual attack.

Other things coming out that point to a coordinated attack are that the suspects may have been dressed in military uniforms. You have to have a sticker on your vehicle and proper ID to get into this military facility, plus other security clearances for certain levels of the shipyard, including this building 197 where the shooting took place.

Why the Washington DC Navy Yard…maybe because we’ve been building up our military for a possible Navy attack on Syria.

Like I previously said. It's way too early to really know anything except that this doesn't appear to be your usual shooting rampage we've been witness of. Maybe I'm wrong.

Dude ... it's way too early to say.

But I'll bet a box of donuts that if it was a terrorist hit, Obama won't be able to say the words
but instead he'll call it workplace violence like he did with the Fort Hood terrorist attack.

Something else to think about.............

Obama is starting his new surge against the 2nd! Last night he did an interview where he blatantly lied and said that, 80% of the American people favored stricter gun control laws!

Coincidence???

Too early to substantiate anything. Who knows if we'll ever know the real truth, but there are reports that the shooters are White and Black males...

My understanding is that this is yet another "gun free" zone, which if true, should come as no surprise to anyone.

I won't take that bet because I like my donuts and I know I'd lose them!

Just heard that the police officer that was shot had multiple gun shots to the legs, which tells me something else about these shooters not intending to kill certain targets...if they had rapid fire weapons that would explain multiple wounds to the legs, and that they aimed down to the legs because it was an officer...they didn't want to kill him but stop him from coming at them.

This could be classified as a terrorist attack though I noticed that most "mass shootings" are not classified as terrorism (why I'm not sure): Newtown CT, Blacksburg VA, Fort Hood, Columbine, Aurora etc.

Terrorism is a tactic and clearly this could have caused feelings of terror in some.

Though I would argue that people need to be mentally prepared for copy cat shooting crimes.

Staged or not, they are on the rise.

And they will be coming for our guns.

work place is throwing your coffe cup (paper) at the wall.
coordinated attack is lots of bullets.

see the difference.

there is no body armor at the legs but the would be shoot must know that a 5.56 rifle round can go through soft body armor. At the speed a 5.56 travels, you need plate armor.

leg shots are also kill shots. you hit the Femoral artery and you'll bleed out in 3-5 minuets

I would love to know more about what they do there at that particular Navy yard and who all works there (that is of major importance). It's not like a visitor can just go hang out. You have to have clearance.

If there is more than one shooter, I call FF attack because.... MAYBE... someone or personS need to die because of what they know?? IDK!!

Was someone working on something of importance that could no longer be trusted?

When it comes to our Government... I distrust, unfortunately.

If you wanted to shoot somebody to slow them down and not necessarily kill them, where would you aim?

From what I gather, the Navy Yard... building 197 is the Naval Sea Command Center (News just said it)

DC Navy Yard is the former shipyard and ordnance plant of the United States Navy in Southeast Washington, D.C. It is the oldest shore establishment of the U.S. Navy.
The Yard currently serves as a ceremonial and administrative center for the U.S. Navy, home to the Chief of Naval Operations, and is headquarters for the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Historical Center, the Department of Naval History, the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, Naval Reactors, Marine Corps Institute, the United States Navy Band, and other more classified facilities.
In 1998, the yard was listed as a Superfund site due to environmental contamination

Also from the link..

"As of 2004, the Navy Yard houses a variety of activities. It serves as headquarters, Naval District Washington, and houses numerous support activities for the fleet and aviation communities.

BREAKING: NBC News identifies the suspect in the Washington D. C. Navy Yard shooting as Aaron Alexis, 34, originally of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is a civilian contractor. He reportedly used the ID of a former employee to gain access into the facility. Twelve people are dead and several others wounded. The death toll is expected to rise. The potential shooter was described by witnesses as carrying a long gun, which some have said could have been an assault rifle

Obama to Mayors - Executive order on gun control
I agree that he is determine to push out every liberty that we hold in America. I know he is progressive but some would call him Facist/Communist-Socialist/Tyrant and I feel when its over it may be the 4th Reich.

So for the OP I think you are on the right track when it comes to BO and his take on the NVV0. He is possibly propping up to WWIII by stating that it was a terrorist attack; then have is grandeur moment like Bush on the rubble. Or this may be a first of a few installments since Janet Napolitano and Lindsey Graham have clued in on a possible attack in our near future. Our fleet of ships are waiting for ........? Since the fleet of ships are off the coast of the med - is worrisome as well. I would think since one of the possible shooters is dead they will FIND intell regarding TERROR and then label it AL Q jihad because the war on Iraq ran them out and they have landed WHERE? Or a new terrorists faction where drones have possibly "found" them. Needless to say a STORY has truly yet to see the light and it all went down as BO was on the verge of speaking on the economy.

I am sure this terrible act may have a few turns but one that the people probably won't agree on nor will those who lost love ones like Benghazi.

I don't mean to inject race into this thing, but my first thoughts earlier when they mentioned two possible suspects, one white and one black, and that the dead shooter was black, I didn't think the white guy fit. Also, because they said the white guy had a hand gun and the black guy had a rifle. The guy with hand gun sounded more like someone who pulled his gun to help. Fox News just said that they have cleared the white guy and no longer wish to talk to him but are still searching for the other guy.

Aaron Alexis from Texas who is 34 years old is confirmed as the dead gunmen and the other possible suspect is being hunted.

Now I want to know who this dude is ^^^!!

All I can find is he was a civilian contractor.

To touch on the conspiratorial angle.

Many reports are suggesting that this attack was perpetrated by several individuals, starting in one of the main buildings.

Inside these buildings, this particular naval base designs, monitors and maintains combat systems and vessels themselves, which not only include surface ships, but submarines as well.

That sounds like a place with a lot of valuable information if you ask me. Knowing the maintenance schedules of vessels, especially submarines! Perhaps information regarding which ships have just been refit?

The latest reports have suggested that two individuals are still on the lose, perhaps this wasn't thoughtless violence, but a preplanned attack to extract information.

Could these two remaining individuals be trying to make their escape with sensitive information or was this just violence for the sake of violence.

We shall soon see!

My immediate thought was a coordinated attack by Al-Qaeda forces operating in the US. The main reasons:

1. Al-Qaeda operatives were incited to wreak havoc in the hopes of crashing the US economy by forcing more money into security services only 4 days ago.

2. The target is a government building, rather than a civilian structure.

3. A 3 man, multiracial team is apparently responsible. This does not implicate Al-Qaeda specifically, but it is less likely that a group of like-minded individuals found each other and coordinated this attack with no overarching organization or outside support.

Sounds plausible. With such a secure area, how did he get in there? If there were multiple shooters, that even makes this question more concerning.
